’Let's try to make the world a better place, even though we work in fashion’ – this could have been the sum up of The Transformers event held yesterday at Amsterdam's Westergasfabriek.

Werner, a familiar face to many in the industry and the buyer behind the new concept, about creating an exciting Thursday night opening of "The assortment andsaw howthe much time he Storey", a 1,900-square meter space in really spends “on the road”. ecological situation by their product offer respectively their consumption behavior and

At least this was the consensus between the panelists that included Robert Antoshak of

Olah Inc., Michael Kininmonth of Lenzing, Miguel Sanchez of Archroma, Dr. Sedef Uncu

Aki of Bossa and Alberto De Conti of Garmon among others. Still, obstacles are in the way, as for example Mariette Hoitink, co­founder of Amsterdam Denim Days, points out:

“We extend the action going on in the city center until the weekend on purpose so that the brands have the chance to meet and talk to their consumers. But then some brand representatives told me in advance that they already leave earlier. Some of them do not take this opportunity to get in touch with their consumers! Come on! It’s seems like a completely new idea to them to talk to consumers. But actually, consumers are

interested, they want to know more about the products.“

AMSTERDAM - Four leading brands from the global denim supply chain used this week's Kingpins event in Amsterdam collection where production was based on the most efficient possible use of resources - in particular water - at each sta

The Roadmap to Rational Denim collaborative project and prototype collection was led by specialty chemicals business Archro chemicals business, Garmon, Austrian fibre maker, Lenzing and Spanish fabric maker, Royo, to create a bespoke line where th water-use during production.

Archroma participated with its experience in sustainable, innovative colors and effects, and its Advanced Denim dyeing techn companies have participated with their recognised experience in specialised solutions in each step of the denim manufacturin

"The Roadmap to Rational Denim' idea [looked to] produce denim garments based on the most efficient possible use of resourc of the production - from fibre to finish," said a statement from Archroma. "Each company contributed to the project with their manufacturing to provide a working guideline, a roadmap towards the more rational and sustainable production of jeans."

Andrew Olah, founder and organiser of The Kingpins Shows, said: "With growing urbanisation of our planet and lifestyle, we s back to nature and to do what is in their power to protect it. Denim being what you wear in- and outdoors, it always had this s why Kingpins is proud to support Archroma, Garmon, Lenzing and Royo in a project that shows that sustainability is not a bou source of inspiration and desire for fashion with soul and care."

Miguel Sanchez, head of special dyes, textile specialties, Archroma, added: "At Archroma, we continuously challenge the status make our industry sustainable. AMSTERDAM - Four leading brands from the global denim supply chain used this week's Kingpins event in Amsterdam collection where production was based on the most efficient possible use of resources - in particular water - at each sta

The Roadmap to Rational Denim collaborative project and prototype collection was led by specialty chemicals business Archro chemicals business, Garmon, Austrian fibre maker, Lenzing and Spanish fabric maker, Royo, to create a bespoke line where th water-use during production.

Archroma participated with its experience in sustainable, innovative colors and effects, and its Advanced Denim dyeing techn companies have participated with their recognised experience in specialised solutions in each step of the denim manufacturin

"The Roadmap to Rational Denim' idea [looked to] produce denim garments based on the most efficient possible use of resourc of the production - from fibre to finish," said a statement from Archroma. "Each company contributed to the project with their manufacturing to provide a working guideline, a roadmap towards the more rational and sustainable production of jeans."

Andrew Olah, founder and organiser of The Kingpins Shows, said: "With growing urbanisation of our planet and lifestyle, we s back to nature and to do what is in their power to protect it. Denim being what you wear in- and outdoors, it always had this s why Kingpins is proud to support Archroma, Garmon, Lenzing and Royo in a project that shows that sustainability is not a bou source of inspiration and desire for fashion with soul and care."

Miguel Sanchez, head of special dyes, textile specialties, Archroma, added: "At Archroma, we continuously challenge the status make our industry sustainable.
