Welcome to my 2016 lookbook. In place of a traditional portfolio, I'm presenting a more relaxed and lively format this year. Please take a moment and enjoy this collection of recent works. I find people fascinating. Whether it be a simple study of how our physical composition or the existential examination of who we are and our place in the world, my art is a constant exploration of human beings. Every series in this book is an examination of humanity; from the live figure studies and paintings to the community created collection of Denver's history. I am driven to create better art; work that perfectly balances technical skills, concept, and sincerity. Where I constantly push my ability with live figure studies (as seen in the sketches page), community created art was an exciting excersion in higher concept this year. Sincerity, for me, is about honest production. My work is not about perfection but capturing a moment. My work stands as document of an instance, right or wrong, instead of being amended later for an ideal. Welcome! I hope you enjoy the work, and if you like it, please share it with your friends. I welcome conversation, commments, and feedback. If inclined, please contact me with feedback or for further information. Cheers, Garrett Suydam
