Research and design of the crystal glass material employ the most highly advanced technology, enabling to win the real challenges with increasingly complex manufacturing processes, and the collaboration with prestigious international designers who see their creative ideas and inspiration become real. The refinement and originality of the range with its intrinsic and formal quality represent the signature and the distinctive feature of Glas Italia products which are equally suitable for home, office and for contract solutions.
profile garthTM ‘s collaboration with Glas Italia began in 2013 with the launch of the ‘Quake’ table In this collaboration the challenge given by the client was to design product that was outside of their typical minimal language, but still capturing the unique identity of Glas Italia and unique qualities of sheet glass material. With this in mind the first efforts resulted in this frozen gesture captured in glass, the ‘Quake’ table for Glas Italia. The ‘Quake’ table, as the name suggests, captures the energy of a moment the between balance and unbalanced. Like toppling cards, the table base seems frozen in time. The asymmetrically cut, glass slabs of ‘Quake’ highlight the object’s casual and simple silhouette. Shaken but not toppled, ‘Quake’ is a metaphor for the visual remains of a tremor with function of furniture.

garth garth™ is headed by garth roberts. He founded the studio in 2009 after a series of pop-up studios project with Universities in Milan, Berlin and New York. Previously he worked in the studios of Jeffrey Bernett and Patricia Urquiola. Since summer 2007 he has been based in Berlin, Germany but continues working relations between Milan, Berlin and New York. The studio works in different fields of product design and creative direction, developing solutions for a wide range of venues from high-end furniture to contemporary art. We consult and design identity & branding systems, brand analysis and development, home accessories, lighting, furniture, retail interiors, collaborative marketing strategies, product packaging, spacial installations, hospitality interiors and product exhibitions.
