11 2 EARLY FLINTLOCK RIFLE. Middle Eastern, late 18th century. Long rifle with Miquelet-type lock on engraved side plate including date of 1797 and a crown over 1. Octagonal barrel length is 37", gun length is 51". Heavily decorated with brass bands, tacks, and bone inlay. $800-$1,200

4 FULL-STOCK FLINTLOCK RIFLE. American, late 18th-early 19th century. Flintlock with full cherry stock. English lock is signed "T. Ketland & Co." 43.5" octagonal barrel. Retains an old dark surface. Brass hardware including a finely engraved trigger guard with pineapple finial. $800-$1,600

POWDER HORN. American, early 19th century. Elaborately engraved with "W. Crammer, 1811", American eagle and shield, two ships (one flying an American flag, one with a vignette of a man shooting ducks from the deck), a crab, man-eating sharks and fantastical creatures including a griffon and mermaid. Wood cap end has brass drawer pull for finial. 13"l. Sold at Garth's, November 2003, lot 314. Illustrated in Accouterments, v. 3, p. 221. $1,800-$3,600

7 TWO PERCUSSION PISTOLS. American, 19th century. One side hammer in 45 caliber with a 3" octagonal barrel and very nice inlay in a burl handle. The other pistol is a top hammer, 58 caliber with 3" octagonal barrel and burl grip. Very nice patina on both. $300-$500

5 TWO MIDDLE EASTERN FLINTLOCK PISTOLS. Middle Eastern, 19th century. Two Blunderbuss flintlock pistols with ornate engravings and brass accoutrements. The larger is 19" and the smaller 18". Both have a smooth rich patina. $1,000-$3,000

10 OHIO FULL-STOCK PERCUSSION RIFLE. American, 19th century. Signed "S. Small, N. Lisbon" (Samuel Small). 30 caliber with 40.5" octagonal barrel and curly maple stock with brass hardware. Extensively decorated with twelve silver inlays including an eagle cheek rest and initialed thumb rest. Sold at Garth's, June 1-2, 2002, lot 214. $5,000-$7,500

24 MARYLAND 8 GAUGE PERCUSSION SHOTGUN. American, mid 19th century. Double barrel 8 gauge percussion shotgun made by Alexander McComas from Baltimore, MD. Barrels are 35" of Damascus steel, stock is crotch walnut. Extensive inlays including a dog retrieving ducks on the trigger guard. In-use repair at the wrist. According to family tradition this was known as the "Goose Gun" and originally belonged to Edward Tilghman Paca of Maryland (1812-1852), and has descended in his family. Edward was a grandson of Governor William Paca, signer of the Declaration of Independence. $1,500-$2,500

WALTHER P-38. Germany, 20th century. Walther P-38 double action, 9mm semi-automatic pistol with over-all length of 8.5". This gun has clear legible marks of: P-38, 5257 J ac 4 4 on left slide, small 359- eagle -359 on right side of slide as well as matching serial numbers 5257 J on other parts. The clip is also marked P-38. $900-$1,500

90 VOLKSSTURMGEWEHR VG 1-5. German, mid 20th century. Volkssturmgewehr VG 1-5 semi-automatic rifle in 7.92 X 33 mm Kurz caliber with 14.75" barrel and plain wood stock. Serial number is Th 2909. Impressed cartouche above serial number is RA 100. Included is a silk escape map of Germany and the surrounding countries, an Army Motion Picture coupon book, two boxes of ammunition, and a belt pouch. This is a rare gun manufactured by Gustloff Werke in Suhl latter years of WWII for the Germans. This somewhat crude but fully functional gun is an important part of military history. According to family history this gun was brought back by an ancestor as a souvenir and has been in the family ever since. $25,000-$35,000
