These are prophecies that tell of the return of Jesus in our time, when he is to judge the living and the dead. Come soon sweet Lord. Jesus will return in the future - Bible passage Matthew 24:30 Written during the first century AD, about 2,000 yrs ago. In Matthew 24-30 Jesus announces he will return sometime in the future. In speaking of himself he said: “And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.” He will come at a time that no man knows, a complete surprise to see if you are ready for him. 2. Jesus on his return will judge the living and the dead. Bible passage: 2 Timothy 4: 1,2 Written: During the first century AD, about 2,000 years ago. “In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of his appearance and his kingdom, I will give you this charge: Preach the Word; be
prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke, and encourage with great patience and careful instructions. 2 Timothy 4:1,2 Our Lord tells us to spread the Gospel far and wide being careful what you say, teaching with great care & patience.
3. The heaven and the earth will be destroyed. Bible passage: 2 Peter 3:10 Written during the first century Ad, about 2,000 yrs ago. In 2 Peter called an epistle or letter and is part of the New Testament, we again are told the day of the Lord will come as a surprise and that the heavens and the earth shall be destroyed: “But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works therein shall be burned up. 2 Peter 3:10 The letter also says that a new heaven and a new earth will be created. 4. Christians of the true Church should not fear the end of the world. Bible Passage: 2 Peter 3:11-13 Written: During the first century around 2,000 yrs ago. We are also told that Christians of the true Church should view the end of the world with great joy not fear, and that there will be a new heaven and new earth:
“Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of person ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, looking for and hasting to the coming day of the Lord, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved and the elements melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, where in dwelleth righteousness. Peter 3:11-13 The earth was destroyed once by water during the flood in Noah’s time. Again at the end of this age it will be destroyed by fire, then Jesus will make a new heaven and earth suitable for his bride, the true Church.
5. Those who believe, the true Church down through history, will be given eternal life forever. Bible Passage: Matthew 25:31-46 Written: During the first century AD, about 2,000 yrs ago. In Matthew 25:312-46 we are told that during judgement day, non-believers and believers will be separated, like goats are separated from the sheep.
The non-believers will face eternal punishment, but the believers will receive eternal life with God, as expressed in verse 46: “And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal. Matthew 25:46 By eternal life the Lord means changed or transformed into a new being like Christ was after his resurrection. Able to still eat or not, able to disappear and re-appear afar, walk through walls, having lightning speed in order to travel to deep corners of the universe and back in microseconds. We will appear as we were at the prime of our life and remain so forever. Truly a great blessing from the Master. May you come soon sweet Jesus.
