Township of Ocean Historical Museum Please join us for the Kick-Off Celebration of our 20th Year “Honoring our past and those who have brought us to the present. Celebrating our Future”

Tuesday, October 28 at 7:30pm Old Oakhurst School 163 Monmouth Road, Oakhurst Refreshments It is time to take pride in the Museum we have created, the only repository in our town that is dedicated to preserving, presenting and interpreting local history. As we look back 20 years, we reflect on the accomplishments of our vision of a community resource to preserve information, artifacts and memories and to educate the public. It will be an evening to thank our supporters, our volunteers, and the community leaders who have made it possible and to look forward to the future. Come and celebrate this “volunteer success story” that your support has nurtured.

RAFFLE SALES

CRUISE FOLLOW-UP

A BIG THANK YOU to those who have sold so many raffle tickets and to those who have faithfully returned their sold raffle stubs and money.

Thanks to all our supporters for a very successful Luncheon Cruise aboard the River Queen on September 7th. We “sold-out” 10 days prior to the cruise and 102 people (about half were not Museum members) enjoyed the perfect weather, the lovely scenery and the pleasant company. Over $1500 was raised for the restoration of the Woolley House on the ticket sales, the Chinese Auction and the 50/50. The gifts for the auction were generously donated by businesses in our community: Attilio’s Pizza, Beauty Street, Brennan’s, Buy-Rite Liquors, Cheers to You, Cookies by Design, Dairy Queen, Foodtown, Great American Flower Mart, Grossman’s Deli, Ideal Lumber, Kelly’s Hallmark, Manhattan Steak House, Marquis Flowers, Middlebrook Spirits, Mike and Nellies, Mimi’s Gourmet, Monmouth Bottle Shop, Oakhurst Flowers, Oakhurst Pizza, Ocean Flower and Gifts, Parkhill’s, Sunset Farms, Sunset Florist and Wanamassa Liquors. Special thanks to: Paul Edelson and Ed DeNoble for running the 50/50 and congratulations to Ann Stiles the winner; Katy Dorsett for the handmade baby afghan and sweater; and Marge Edelson for the lap quilt; and to our Fund Raising Committee: Marge Edelson, Lesley Dorsett, Katy Dorsett, Lois Landis, Kay Zimmerer and Joal Leone.
