BY-LAW AMENDMENTS The Museum’s Executive Board feels that some additional amendments to our Constitution and By-laws are necessary. Accordingly the by-laws committee met recently and the following proposals will be considered and voted upon at the special meeting on April 21. Please note that this special meeting is scheduled for a Wednesday evening. Constitution Article IV Officers. This article currently provides for 6 officers and 3 trustees. The officers will remain the same. It will be proposed that the number of trustees be increased from 3 to 6. The change will read as follows: There shall be six (6) trustees who will each serve a six (6) year term. They will be elected on a staggered basis—2 per year over a 6 year period. By-laws Article I, Sections 3, 4, & 5 Section 3. Annual dues for a family or household shall be set by the Executive Board and voted on by the Membership. Section 4 Annual dues for Patrons shall be not less than $25.00 Section 5. Annual dues for Benefactors shall be not less than $100.00.
Article III Section 8. The Executive Board of the Association shall consist of the officers and trustees and will be responsible for the annual auditing of the books of the organization. Proposed change: The Executive Board of the Association shall consist of the elected officers, trustees, immediate past president, and all chairpersons of standing committees. The Executive Board is responsible for overseeing the annual auditing of the books of the organization. Explanatory statement: Plans and responsibilities for our future museum indicate a need for additional board members.

The Nominating Committee met and is presenting the following members as candidates to fill the vacant trustee positions. Terms of office vary for this special election. The result will be a staggered schedule of trustee terms set according to our amended by-laws. Kathy Brady---one year term to 2005
Change would read as follows: Annual dues for each category of membership shall be determined by the Executive Board and reviewed annually at the fall board meeting. (see schedule) Explanatory statement—Basic dues will remain the same. Patron and benefactor will be retained and additional dues categories will be added. A schedule of dues categories will be prepared and reviewed annually.
