MENTORING AND PROFESSIONAL SUPPORT PROGRAM FOR BEHAVIOUR SUPPORT PROFESSIONALS
PARTNERSHIPS IN SERVICE DESIGN FOR AGENCIES PROVIDING SUPPORT TO PEOPLE WITH PROBLEM BEHAVIOUR
TEAMWORK EXCELLENCE
An ongoing program for behaviour support professionals which includes one-to-one (in person and electronic) and group sessions.
This service will be provided to agencies who wish to shift their style of service provision from a traditional approach (for example, group homes, Adult Day Programs) to one which is person-centred (ie, enabling people with a history of problem behaviour to live as citizens in their own homes in the way they want, where they engage in meaningful activities through the day that will mostly be work or educational activities). It will include partnering the agency through every stage of the process (service design, recruitment, professional development program design, management processes and systems, development of Person-Centred and Positive Behaviour Support plans).
Using a process developed by Ray McLean, famous for his work with high achieving teams, like the Geelong Football Club, teams are assisted to come to some important agreements about:
