It is constructed with a high strength tensile cord and low stretch polyester for high load carrying capability. Note: 70231BL, 70231RD, 70331BL and 70331RD feature an open style vacuum valve. The valve hangs loose from the bottom of the cap. The open style valve allows the cooling system to operate at low preasure to prevent constant strain on the radiator, hose and water pump seals.

Passenger Car AirAware™ TPMS - Tyre Pressure monitoring system AirAware TPMS systems alerts the driver when the pressure of their tyres changes to unsafe levels. This is achieved through a set of sensors which are installed in each tyre that send constant pressure readings to a receiver unit installed in the vehicle. This way, the driver is kept aware of the tyre pressure at all times.

Why has TPMS Technology come about? TPMS technology began due to an increase of accidents in the U.S. related to unsafe tyre pressure. As a result the U.S. mandated that from 2008 all vehicles manufactured in the U.S. must be installed with TPMS units.

AirAware™ TPMS

What are the benefits of TPMS equipped vehicles? Tyres can lose up to half their air pressure before appearing to be under-inflated. Under inflated tyres are not only a safety hazard, but they also cost the consumer money. Safety: The most critical safety component on a vehicle (tyre pressure), is commonly overlooked until it’s often too late. Installing a TPMS unit allows for the constant monitoring of tyre pressure, hence improving braking efficiency and reducing accidents related to under or over inflated tyres. Cost Saving to the consumer: Fuel consumption increases when tyres are incorrectly inflated (either over or under the required pressure). Research shows that tyres which are under-inflated by 6 PSI can increase fuel consumption by 2% and decrease tyre wear by 25%. Correct tyre inflation saves money!
