AMITY UNIVERSITY GURGAON

This portfolio holds a collection of some of my academic, non-academic and professional work in architecture, design and art. Each project had a distinctive presentation style, but for the sake of cohesion, all project layouts share a similar design language in this portfolio

“The hardest thing to explain is the glaringly evident which everybody has decided not to see.

About Me I’ve always believed architecture to be something tangible, real and solid. The process of creating something from base constituents has appealed to me ever since I started contemplating what I would like to do with my life, and it led me to pursue architecture, and I found joy in it.

When an architect is asked what his best building is, he usually answers, “The next one.”

The Client

The Cube House is the requirement of a career photographer, heretofore mentioned as Mr. Q. He wants the house to be a retreat from his lifestyle, but still gives him the space he needs to experiment with his work. He would prefer the residence to be as barebones as possible, to offer the least amount of distraction.

Function The unique restriction of the dimensions grants an interesting perspective of the build and design of the structure, forcing a melange of physical elements and materials to coincide.

The Client

The design thesis aims to create a residential educational center for the youth of Himchal Pradesh in a sustainable and replicable manner by utilizing vernacular Himachali construction style, and integrating them with modern passive energy saving techniques.

The Function

Kath-Kuni architecture, indigenous to Himachal Pradesh, is a wholly sustainable and recyclable building technique. Local stone and timber, cunningly joint together using gravity and friction, eschewing traditional masonry and mortar. A mountain-side institution was created in this style, which would follow a philosophy of education which incorporates modern education with classical values of the region
