GAYATRI SWAIN

As a committed and diligent student, I have worked hard to keep up my academic standing as I pursued my degree. I’ve acquired time management, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities through my studies. Additionally, I have grown in my ability to convey my views to others and work on group projects with my classmates. Along with my studies, I participate in extracurricular activities like sports teams and volunteer work, which has helped me build leadership qualities and a dedication to community service. I consider myself to be an all-around motivated and eager student with a solid work ethic and a desire to study and develop.

Self-sustain, self-esteem, and freedom are the cornerstones of my design strategy for the community centre. Rural development generally refers to the process of improving the quality of life and economic well-being of people living in relatively isolated and sparsely populated areas. Its refers to a beter quality of life encompassing at least three components.

1-SELF SUSTAINANCE: the basic necessities of life, Economic growth.

2-SELF ESTEEM : self respect, dignity or honour for every person and every nation.

3-FREEDOM: political, economical, cultural.

In the mixed-use design, I wanted to play with the voids and volumes, incorporating landscaping to the mass to enhance the design and contribute a serene view for the users. The glass facade used throughout the building has a low carbon footprint, making its use sustainable and eco-friendly. Overall, my main goal is to achieve an exciting form that is not only visually pleasing but also very functional for the users.

The design of 15 min city is segmented into sectors and is primarily focused on the road layout of the city; it is constructed in such a way that a person can traverse a sector by foot in 15 minutes.

Cluster organisation is the core of the design . The institute is designed with many activity spaces where break floors are provided between floors where landscaping is done, outdoor spaces, seating areas, and canopies are the main enhancing elements in my design, and a water body is an essential component of my design because it completely encompasses the main block of the institute.

Inside-Out is a building design that creates a sense of openness by using large glass facades to create a horizontal linkage between the inside and outside. This creates a visual aesthetic that gives mental peace and a cosy and healthy atmosphere for working. It also helps to bring productive thoughts, which is beneficial for scientists, students, and other workers.

My site is located in the tribal area of Sundarbans, and it features a mangrove tree whose roots are the main support to hold the tree during floods. This theory inspired the concept of the tiny house, which is a modular housing designed for the tribes of Sundarbans and tourists who visit. The tiny house has been created in such a way that as the level of the water rises, the house floats; this is accomplished by the house’s columns, which have been carefully engineered with a lock system.
