LGBTQ+ LAS VEGAS NEWS AIDS Walk at Sunset Park

On Sunday, May 7th, from 8-11 a.m., community members will gather at Sunset Park for the 33rd annual AIDS Walk Las Vegas organized by Aid for AIDS of Nevada. This significant fundraising event is an opportunity for the community to come together and show their support for Southern Nevadans living with or affected by HIV/AIDS.

The pre-walk festival hosted by iHeart Sunny 106.5 will feature several performances, including Vegas! The Show, GLAM, Norma Llyaman and the Vegas Theatre Company, Chadwick Johnson, Chippendales and the Las Vegas Kaminari Taiko Drummers.

Participants of all ages and their pets can take part in the walk, which includes a carnival area, food trucks, and vendors. The event also hosts a community resource fair and other games for little walkers.

For the 22nd consecutive year, Penn & Teller will serve as grand marshals, kick-starting the walk and encouraging walkers to donate and make a difference in the community.

“This year’s AIDS Walk comes at a time when similar community events and performers in other states are being targeted and restricted,” said Aid for AIDS of Nevada executive director.

“It’s more important than ever to keep our local traditions and celebrations alive to show our support for our clients and the LGBTQ+ community. We invite walkers of all ages and backgrounds to join us for a morning of fun, pride, and love.”

A donation of $30 for adults and $15 for youth is requested for registration. Attendees are encouraged to form a team and fundraise to receive incentives. To learn more and register, please visit Aid for AIDS of Nevada’s website.
