/S16 Turned out to be an incredibly challenging and transitional time. With our latest issue we wanted to experiment and try new things while also remaining true to our aesthetic. One of the biggest changes we made must have been really honing in on talent that was ready to work. In the past we featured a great deal of talent that were in the development stages. Although we Believe these talents are still worth showcasing we are no longer featuring them as much as talent that is more ready for the RESPONSILBILITIES of this industry. As always we created a set of points we wanted to cover. Most of our points are self explanatory. They are characteristics we seek in our talent and people we would like to collaborate with. This year will mark our 5th year as a publication. We have had such an amazing journey thus far. Their have been many highs and lows over the years. We decided the best thing for us to do, the way to come out on top, is to take it all in stride. Like water off a duck's back. Keep it moving is our mantra this issue. What this mantra means for us, is that win or lose, you must remain steadfast. We believe that although it winning feels much better than losing, each is equally as important for growth. You can't win them all, as the famous saying goes. We learned to really rely on ourselves. It is important to listen to critiques in order to improve. It is also important to know what you are capable of delivering. What you are capable of delivering today will not necessarily be what

can deliver tomorrow. We have always believe that the only person you really need to appease is yourself. Only you need to have approval for the things you do. Because who better than you knows your capabilities and limitations. Life is not always going to be easy. As much as people would like to believe that we live in a perfect world, we do not. There are going to be times when you will need to face adversity. It is in these moments that you will truly find yourself. During moments of adversity, you will have to dig deep to find the right choices and steps you must make. In life there will always be 2 roads one can take. In this issue we are attempting to highlight stories which illustrate this theme of decisions and choices. Not every choice is based on right or wrong. Life is way more complicated. A choice sometimes comes out of a circumstance and a circumstance can also come out of a choice. Again it is the cycles and patterns in situations, in things that we hope to explore in our latest issue. Someone also said nothing word doing is ever easy. People who have gone against the curve, have gotten off the beaten path, have explored new lands, these are people who know what it means to take risks, to take chances. One of the most difficult things we can do as human beings is to risk something. Risks have some serious consequences, even calculated risks. There is never a foul proof plan. If there were a plan which did not involve risk, everyone would easily go after anything they wished for. Risk is a big part of life and we also dedicate this issue to those spirits who are willing to risk of themselves, in order to accomplish and achieve unexpected things. The prize you receive is not the pay off. The true pay off is what you learn about yourself. You learn about a strength, a reservoir that lives within each and everyone of us.

This reservoir of fortitude, arrives when we need it most. If it arrives at the opportune time you will find that the act of stepping up, standing up can be life changing and altering.During the tough times one must stand strong in their resolve. Sometimes when you allow people access to the things you do it is a huge mistake. They do not take the invitation you extend as a welcome guest as they should. Instead they take your gesture and use it as a way to tear you apart, dissect you, analyze you, inspect you and reinspect you. Not everyone in this world is a nice person. There are people in this world who are very unhappy and again not to use another clichĂŠ, misery loves company. In spite of all that we continue onward and forward with our quest to bring you a new exciting issue filled with inspiration, good energy, positive energy. We will do what we have always done. We will take things day by day and step by step. It would be nice to have everyone love you and be on your side. Again unfortunately that is not the way the world always works. There are going to be people who do not see you as a person. They will see you as a means to an end. And that is a very sad state to live in. You cannot help feel sorry for these people. You cannot help and think what caused them to become so bitter. Life is a wonderful and amazing thing. Too many people spend way too much energy attempting to top the sun with their hand instead of just enjoying the light and the warmth it provides. Wishing Everyone an Amazing SF16 Next Issue: DESIRES Coming Soon Jay Tavarez Editor in Chief
