Location and Access

An hour and a half from Miami versus 30 hours to Asia. Visit your plant in a day. 25 minutes away from the Port-au-Prince International Airport and main industrial zone. Ideal to serve as a commercial and industrial hub to serve the Haitian market. Next to the main highways connecting the country’s four cardinal points. Direct access to the country’s agricultural heartland and agro industrial development regions (the Artibonite Valley and the Plateau Central). 70 km away from the Dominican border post of Malpasse Next to the town of Lafiteau and Simonette with 10,000 habitants and Cabaret with 60,000. Easily accessible to and from Port-au-Prince but far enough to avoid the congestion and inefficiencies of the city.

Overview - A dependable and secure network of basic utilities is of vital importance. The site design is centered on a subgrade network of power, data, water and wastewater to provide the maximum level of reliability and respect for the environment.

Social Responsibility - Lafito Global has developed a comprehensive health, safety, security and environment policy to ensure compliance with the standards established by the World Bank. These policies extend beyond the boundaries of Lafito Global and will be applied to the surrounding communities to ensure the neighboring towns benefits from their implementation.

- 25 MW of capacity in initial phase. As the development grows, additional

power will be added.

Water – Provision of safe and sustainable water for potable, irrigation and fire control purposes is of critical importance for the site. Total storage capacity is expected to exceed 25 million gallons of continuously circulated fresh water, all to AWWA standards.

Infrastructure Building Standard

- Design and construction of the facility is intended to lead

the way in Haiti for high quality cost effective structures. All buildings are designed in accordance with 2006 International Building Code (IBC) ASCE7-05. Wind loads are designed for 145mph with an exposure category “D.� Further, seismic loading is in accordance with ASCE7-05.

Security - Security checkpoints will be located at various critical locations and the entire development.

Road Network - Currently under construction are over 10 km of 8 meter wide asphalted roads.

Garden and Landscape - Installed irrigation will promote the growth of native plants and trees, essential to maintain the natural beauty of the site and grounds.
