DESIGN Concept

Game Changer Design Contest/ 2nd Prize

Arete; was designed with inspiration from the Ancient Goddess Arete, who also took her place in the Celsus Library in Ephesus. It represents fight of human for perfection. It combines the concepts of determi nation, intelligence, insight. In the Ancient Period, it is the philosophy of right living in a way befitting human dignity that the heroes should follow. According to mythology, the heroes who left this philosophy and became arrogant were punished by the gods. Human has exhibited various behaviors related to knowing his place in nature and his place in every period. In the near future, our choices to use technology may not only o er humanity a dignified life that knows its place in the world and its place, but may also lead to consequences that will complicate life.Consuming less energy, choosing production methods that do not emit harmful gas, circular production setups will be a part of sustainable living. Arete's screen; There is a touchscreen black and white magnetic based e-ink screen. Because of it is a light-free screen, it does not emit UV rays and has a low magnetic field. Energy consumption is low and is not harmful to eye health. Consumers can use their mobile phones, computers and tablets by mirroring them to this screen with WIFI connection. They can make video calls by connecting to the camera.

DESIGN Conceptual

Pixel, with variable in height top table, turns into a personal work unit, coffee table and meeting unit. Pixel has autonomous mecanum wheels. Thanks to wheels, it can rmove and rotate around itself easily. Also, consumers can control the product by an app with their smartphone.

hands, represents two people holding hands. It had been Inspired by the use of the properties of di erent materials to create a unity in balance and harmony. Just as di erent people create a society by living together, there are two di erent main materials that forming the integrity. Due to the compatibility of the Side Surfaces with each other, it allows use at 4 di erent heights (750/850/950/1150mm). Marble part and wooden side surfaces are produced with notch. The wide layer of the marble is inside and the 2mm reduced layer by processing is outside. On the other hand, the large surface of the top plate is outside, the machined and 2mm notch is in inside. In this way, the two parts overlap each other exactly and there is no falling or sliding on the lateral axis.

Filat / Rocking Horse with changeable heads/ Awarded

Filat is a rocking toy with changeable heads. Kid as consumeri can change by himself. Other heads and also other toys can collect include the toy. Wtih di erent heads, intended to have a long lifespan of product.

Suzan, shaped like stone, manufactured from natural stone surface. Consumers can set the heat of spa bed and hot water spraying system. Water is directed to the consumer’s feet part after use. It flows down the slope. Thus, the user feels like lying in a stream.

Water and hot stones have been used for centuries to treat psychological and physiological ailments. In this product, the healing properties of water and stones are presented together.

SPA, "Sanitas Per Aquam" meaning "The Healt coming from Water" practiced from the Romans to the present is the name given to the therapy. Healing with water health from the use of water, hot, cold and in di erent forms (dripping, drip, showering, rest gained by the application of spraying and complementary in which feelings of relief are acquired, used in therapy.

Hot Stone Therapy, found by Yin Huan Yong found 3500 years ago. He use stones that are high mineral value. He place stones on his body after the oval stones which are heated in the sun. It is applied by waiting at certain points. in therapy heat retention/ late cooling of natural stones features are used.

These two therapies becomes a unit in the Roman Baths. In the baths, marble is heated and kept warm by thermal water. Hot stone and hot water meets in central stone. In this cener, ventilation and lighting element also used under a dome.

Desk Standing Work

idesk, o er a personal space to consumer who needs hygienic areas.

To create an individual use area in the o ice environment for people who previously worked from home remotely. idesk; With its movable table, the armchair allows not only sitting but also standing work with di erent heights. which has proven to be healthier.

Materials and Assembly; 18mm plywood in the arm parts (the skeleton is lightened by emptying on large surfaces) and sponge, fabric. The plywood is processed in the CNC vertical router, the arm parts are covered with 3cm sponge. After it is covered with fabric, it is placed in the package. Pu skeleton; 12mm plywood is lightened by being hollowed out as a frame, top/bottom and front/back. The pu pieces are disassembled and placed in the box together with the fabric. In assembly, after the intermediate records of the pouf frame are combined with minifix, the fabric is dressed. Side/arm surfaces and back parts are combined with minifix.

Work Surface (18mm plywood) is movable. The 4 round wooden pieces holding the surface are placed by hand turning the bolts on the inside and the dowels on the side surfaces. After the Artboard is placed, the assembly is complete. can be packed horizontally, stored vertically on the pallet.

2017/ Line following Dinner Trolley

Liner is designed based on line follower robot technology. Thus, a useful usage scenario of technology at home has been studied. Consumers begin to use this product with attaching black or white tape to the floor to create a path. Liner follows that contrast tape way and moves along the line. the product is a trolley as well as a robot. Consumers can use it for service between kitchen and living spaces. They can control liner by an application.

Design process started with a brief that wants a pouf for an armchair family

When I survey on the internet about the expectations of users from a pouf with right questions, The result shows that, users wants more benefits from a pouf than they wants from a sofa. Because accor ding to general opinion, pou es were no more necessary than other upholstered items. But, If this tiny furniture is multifunctional, they prefer to buy it. Than, I made edits to the brief according to this feedback.

If a pouf can be also co ee table, users could use one product instead of two. The inside of this hibrit furniture could use as storage space, the volume of the product become more acceptable to buy it.

Relation between user and product

Product was uncomfortable for arms, back and head. With a photo, I detected parts that have difficulties.

3D Model Prototype

Lamps designed as Floor Lamp and Table Lamp. The main idea in the projects is elegant lines that illuminate and customize the dark corners in interiors.

During the day, when there is no need for more lights, products should not stand out and also they must be humble.

At night, shape is important for directing the light.
