Join us for a fun day out and about. First we will head to the Villages of Urbana for lunch at the Atlantic Grill offering a great selection of food for all. Then we are off to “Lilypons Water Gardens” in Adamstown, MD., to view the Flora & Fauna and to have a chance to shop a bit if you like. On our third stop we will visit the award winning Sugarloaf MT Winery in the rolling hills of Dickerson, MD. There will be a tour of the vineyards and winery, and you will have the opportunity to sample or purchase various wines.Our fourth and final stop is to the Rocky Point Creamery in Tuscarora, MD., where you can savor sundaes and shakes and sunflowers. Oh My!! With milk provided by their own dairy on land owned by the family since 1883, this is a sweet spot you surely won’t want to miss before heading back to the center.

A Visit To The Japan Information And Culture Center

The visit to the Japan Information & Culture Center (JICC) includes a presentation giving an overview of Japanese geography, society, and customs. Then you will be introduced to some artifacts that contains JICC’s robot pet seal, PARO, fake food, holiday decorations, and traditional games and clothing. Check out the current exhibit “The Superlative Artistry of Japan” while at the center and, last but not least, take part in an activity to remember the visit. Lunch on your own before the Cultural Center visit.

Out of an abundance of caution, it is advised to have your COVID Vaccine information and a mask with you when going on trips.

In this class with Tawny and Allie of Live Young Candle Company, you will go through the candle making process. This two hour completely hands on class will include picking your own vessels, scents, and pouring your own wax. Finished products will be collected same day after lunch, on our own, in Frederick, MD. The fee only includes the class fee. You will have to purchase the vessel on your own at the workshop that costs from $5-$30 each, and the vessels can make up to three candles. You are welcome to bring drinks and snacks to the class, complimentary tea and coffee available on site.
