Colin Kodama, PE, SE, Promoted to Coffman Engineers’ Structural Engineering Department Manager

Hawaii Engineer Advances to Pacific Regional Leadership Position

HONOLULU, Hawaii, June 26, 2023 –Coffman Engineers, Inc. (Coffman) is pleased to announce the promotion of Colin Kodama, PE, SE, to Structural Engineering Senior Discipline Manager. The company announced the promotion on June 7th during the Pacific Regional all-team meeting.

“We are pleased to announce the well-deserved promotion of Colin Kodama to Structural Department Manager. This is an exciting time for the department with Colin taking the lead and continuing to build on the department’s strengths,” said John Thielst, Coffman’s Senior Vice President and Pacific Regional Manager.

Colin joined Coffman in June 2022 with design experience focused on educational and institutional facilities for agencies like the Department of Education. His background includes structural engineering analysis and design, project management, construction administration, and special inspections. He has served private and public sector clients, including city, state, and federal agencies. Colin was born and raised in Hawaii, is a graduate of Kamehameha Schools, and received his BS and MS in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis from Santa Clara University.

Colin’s promotion follows the expansion of Coffman’s structural group after

Shigemura, Lau, Sakanashi, Higuchi, and Associates, Inc. (SLSH) joined Coffman in November 2022.

Coffman’s Pacific Region includes 74 personnel in Honolulu and 10 in Guam, offering multidiscipline engineering services.
