Arts in the Alley Community Parade

People begin to set their chairs and blankets along the curbs of Broadway and Columbus Streets as early as 6:00 am on the 3rd Saturday of September in preparation for the very long standing Grove City tradition of the Arts in the Alley Community Parade. Thousands line the streets to watch the parade as marching bands, antique cars, horses, little dancers and tumblers, dignitaries, emergency vehicles, amazing floats and so many others take over Broadway from SW Blvd to Columbus Street. Bringing you back to your childhood, the Arts in the Alley Community Parade is an event that you really don’t want to miss.

Arts in the Alley

This 45 year old Signature Event, hosted by the Grove City Area Chamber of Commerce is of course - Arts in the Alley. Over 100 artists and art vendors set up their tents in the heart of Grove City for a weekend of fun and art. 5 specialty art shows including Craft, Fine Art, Photography, Youth Art and Quilt bring incredible talent to the forefront of tens of thousands of visitors. Kids Fun Street offers ‘make and take’ art and craft projects to the little ones with the goal of nurturing a love for art. The Voice of Grove City along with high school bands and show choirs perform on the Heartland Bank Stage throughout the weekend as the draw of delicious goodies like fried bologna sandwiches, chicken and noodles, popcorn, corn dogs, pizza and of course lemon shake ups brings people from near and far.

The Arts in the vocal competition is ringing in our ears. Talent from all over the region submit their videos and from those, finalists are selected by our esteemed judges. The finalists sing their way through the Arts in the Alley weekend to the enjoyment of judges, onlookers, family and the community. Our winners have gone on to see success in their careers and have come back to support the Voice of Grove City by singing at events and offering their expertise to the Voice judges panel. A wonderful addition to the Arts in the Alley weekend.
