We created this guide as a quick reference to help you fill each day of your visit with discovery. As a newer resident to the City of Indio, I have found that Indio isn’t just home - it’s a weekend itinerary. As someone who loves to discover new places and new activities, Indio is best for:
Nature Lovers - Indio is surrounded by mountains for hiking, climbing, star gazing, and nature loving. If you like to hike for mild exercise and celestial views, we’ve got the trails for that! But, if you are an avid hiker and performance athlete looking for ascents and opportunities to challenge yourself in the sun, we have that too! Foodie Lovers - Indio has countless restaurants that vary from swanky to simple. Our food scene includes a host of flavors and new dishes I’m pretty sure you’ve never heard of or tried before. Have you tried a sweet corn tamale? Don’t leave Indio until you do! Be sure to dine at the Indio Food Truck Park and make a Date Shake part of everyday of your stay with us.
Festival Goers - Indio attracts the world’s top talent to our many stages. Whether you’re catching a concert at Fantasy Springs Resort & Casino or living it up at Coachella Fest or Stagecoach; Indio always entertains.
History Lovers - Indio is a treasure trove of history. These sacred lands were originally populated by native americans who continue to preserve and progress the land today. General Patton’s army took refuge here and the original railroad laid its tracks here. Indio is rich in history and historical figures. Book a tour or visit the Coachella Valley History Museum to get a sense of how fascinating our community roots are.
In short, Indio offers something for everyone. Visit often and connect with the team at Discover Indio to plan your next itinerary. Consider us your pocket guide and local expert for discovery in Indio.
