USEF Safe Sport

As of January 1, 2019, every USEF adult (18 years or older) member with a USEF Competing Membership must complete USEF's Safe Sport Training.

Required SafeSport Training is

available free to all USEF members through your Member Dashboard. Instructions are available on their website USEDF.org.

If you are a victim or a survivor of abuse and believe this training could be an emotional trigger, please contact Teresa Roper at troper@usef.org, Sonja Keating at skeating@usef.org, or the U.S. Center for SafeSport at training@safesport.org, before accessing the Safe Sport Training course.

As of Jan 1, 2019 every USEF adult member (18 years of age or older) with a Competing Membership must complete USEF's Safe Sport Training.

A 30-day grace period to complete the SafeSport training will be provided to all members who renew or join on or after December 1, 2018. Members joining prior to December 1, 2018 will have until January 1, 2019, to complete the training. Those who do not complete the training within the grace period will be ineligible to participate in USEF activities, including competitions.

SafeSport Training for non-USEF members is available for $20 on the USEF.org website.

USEF/USDF SAFE SPORT POLICY

The USDF has adopted the USEF Safe Sport Policy, promoting the safety and welfare of horses and athletes. USDF is committed to providing information, resources, and a protocol so that all members of the equestrian community have awareness, tools, and a support structure to ensure a safe and positive environment for equestrians to develop their skills.

USEF members and participants have a mandatory duty to report suspected sexual misconduct to the U.S. Center for SafeSport.

To complete the Safe Sport Training modules, you must visit the USEF website, log in, and the link to the Safe Sport Training modules will be in your USEF Membership dashboard.

Parents Training Course for equestrian athletes of all ages helps parents ensure their children have a positive and safe sport experience and is free.
