We need to get out of here. Peyman is confused and stops punching Alireza. He suddenly stops and falls to his knees, hugging Alireza’s legs. PEYMAN What happened? ALIREZA You know I would never do such a thing to you. I love you. FOROOZ What are you talking about? ALIREZA My mum tricked me. Peyman kisses it and Forooz moves the book around his head. They do this three times. PEYMAN Listen. I want you to do something for me. FOROOZ What is it Peyman? PEYMAN Take the money that Alireza and I had planned to run away with. Take it, and go. He will get you a visa and everything else you need. Take the money and just get out of here.

What?

FOROOZ (Shocked and confused)

Blood begins to trickle down his face. FOROOZ Stop it! (Takes out the Quran) To love everybody means to love your brothers and sisters equally. You people have turned your back on one of your own today. Look at his blood! It is the same blood that is rushing through my veins. The same as yours, the same as his, the same as hers.
