All parents are eligible for the government grant, covering 15 hours education, up until the term in which the child turns five. This is deducted from fees.

The fees cover the regular curriculum, school books, stationery and other materials, choral music, games and swimming, careers guidance and public examination fees, but not optional extra subjects or school meals. School Lunch is currently charged for separately at £3.64 per day and is compulsory for girls up to Year 10.
Total number of lessons per year: 30
Whenever possible, a term’s notice will be given of the intention to increase the fees for tuition or extra subjects. However, if circumstances arise in which costs (e.g. substantial increases in teachers’ salaries) have to be recouped immediately, the Council of the Trust may be forced to increase fees at less than a term’s notice.
Accounts for extra subjects will be sent direct by the teachers concerned, and should be settled with those teachers before the start of each term.
Payment of Fees
Fees must be paid by the Bank Direct Debit system and the necessary form can be provided either by the school or from the Trust Head Office. The fees may be paid either termly in advance or by monthly instalments (4 per term).
Registration Fee
A fee of £100 is charged which is not refundable.
Deposit
A deposit of £750 is chargeable on the acceptance of a place and will be held until the end of the pupil’s final term in the school. It will not be refunded if the place is not taken up by the pupil.

Admissions Entrance to the Senior School
Academic Plus Scholarships For Year 9 Entry: Will be awarded to applicants from external schools who apply for academic scholarship + assessment in: Art & Design, Music, Drama or Sport. Roles and Responsibilities pertaining to this award and further details will be sent on application.
Year 7: We will hold Entrance tests on Saturday 9th December 2017 for entry in the following September. Details of the test arrangements, together with specimen test questions, will be made available following application. Applications must be received by 27th October 2017.
Music, Art & Design, Drama and Sports scholarships for Year 7: For entry in September 2018, the selection process will take place in January 2018. Information and entry forms will be available from the Admissions Registrar from Summer 2017.
A Taster Morning will take place on Saturday 25th November 2017. Year 9: We will hold Entrance tests on Tuesday 23rd January 2018 for Applicants for Year 9 entry. Applicants will be tested in Maths, English and Verbal Reasoning.
Sixth Form Scholarships: There is a competitive Academic Scholarship examination, held in November/December 2017 for Year 11, which is open to both internal and external candidates. Croydon High School Academic Scholars will be a small number of girls who show exceptional potential for future academic study. Art, Drama, Music, PE Scholarships are available for the Sixth Form, holders of these Scholarships must also pass a General Academic paper.
Sixth Form: We interview applicants and request a reference from the present school. Sixth form entry requirements are: • Passes in a minimum of six subjects at GCSE (Grade B or above or Grade 6 on the number grading scheme). •
A minimum B grade (or A in Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Modern Languages or Grade 7 on the number grading scheme) where the subject was taken at GCSE and is to be studied at A level.

Where a subject chosen for A level study was not taken at GCSE a minimum B grade (Grade 6 on the number grading scheme) in closely related subjects as specified in the Sixth Form prospectus.
Jacqueline du Pré Sixth Form music scholarship: Applicants should be of a good Grade VII standard but, in exceptional cases, a candidate who has achieved a distinction at Grade VI might be considered. This scholarship is open to both internal and external candidates. Auditions will be held in November/December 2017. Information and entry forms are available from the Music Department at school. At the end of Lower Sixth: The Jenny Park Award for girls studying English & the Arts is awarded. Scholarship Trust Awards for girls studying a science, humanity, art, modern language are also available.
• No more than two “new” (i.e. non GCSE) subjects may be chosen for A level study. • An Open Evening for Sixth Form entry will be held on 18th October 2017. When completing the application form it is helpful if you would confirm that your daughter’s present Head Teacher has been informed of the application. Interviews with the Deputy Head will be arranged.
GDST Bursaries A limited number of these are available to girls joining the school in Year 7 and Lower Sixth who would not otherwise be able to benefit from Croydon High School education. Bursaries are means tested and the value of the bursary is related to the income and financial resources of the girl’s family. The award of a Bursary is at the Headmistress’s discretion based on a girl’s performance in the entrance test and interview. The online Bursary forms will be available to be completed once the application has been received by the Admissions Registrar. The deadline for bursary applications is 3rd November 2017. Post-entry bursaries may be awarded to girls whose families suffer unexpected financial difficulties, and are no longer able to pay the fees in full.
Vacancies at Stages other than Year 7 or Sixth Form Applicants for such places will be tested and interviewed by the Headmistress. On receipt of an application form we will contact your daughter’s present Head Teacher for a report on her progress. It is important that her present school has been informed of the application.
Scholarships and Bursaries: Deadline for application is 3rd November 2017
Parents should inform the school, at the time of their application, of any specific learning difficulty or disability, and by enclosing with the registration form any Educational Psychologist’s Report.
Academic Scholarships For Year 7 Entry will be awarded on the basis of performance in the Entrance test on 9th December 2017. 3

Uniform Information Girls in Years 7 to 11 wear uniform in order to foster a sense of community and to enable them to present a neat and business-like appearance both within and outside the school. Uniform should be worn in a clean and tidy condition both at school and between school and home. All clothing and other articles brought to school should be clearly named. All items may only be purchased from Hewitts of Croydon. Please note that Hewitts are happy to take telephone orders. There is no need to visit the shop.

Flat black shoes in plain leather (patent leather, suede, fleecy lined or colour trim are not acceptable). Shoes should be sturdy in design to offer appropriate support; high heels or ballet-style pumps are not allowed. Boots are not permitted.

Please note hair fastenings should be plain navy or white. NO jewellery may be worn. One plain gold or silver stud earring is permitted in each pierced ear lobe. No other studs are acceptable in piercings elsewhere on the body. Hair longer than shoulder length should be fastened back for safety reasons. Exaggerated styles, hair extensions and obviously tinted hair are not allowed. Girls are expected to bring an outer garment to school every day so that they are suitably clothed in all weathers.

GCSE Examination Results 2017 Year 11 GCSE Results 42 candidates took 430 GCSE/IGCSE subjects. The grade A* to C pass rate was 98.6%. 91% of grades were at A* to B. 74% were at A* to A.

A Level Examination Results 2017 Upper Sixth Advanced Level Results 44 candidates made 134 entries at A Level. The pass rate was 100%, with 38.1% at grades A* or A, 63.4% at grades A* to B and 85.8% at grades A* to C. 39 of candidates also completed the Extended Project Qualification and 38 were awarded A* to B grades. Sixth Form Dress Code for Upper and Lower Suits
Jewellery & Accessories
• Tailored jacket and matching tailored skirt or trousers which form part of a suit • No jeans/cords/jeans cut/jeans style trousers • No denim or leather • Skirts are to cover at least ¾ of the thigh (which would mean ½ thigh when seated); skirts may have a small (max. 9cms) slit at the back • The maximum length for skirts is mid-calf length • The choice of colour may be selected from: black, navy or dark grey • A discreet pinstripe or classic check in the same colour as the overall colour of the suit but with a contrasting thread effect is allowed
• No tongue studs, anklets, nose studs or other facial piercings • Discreet necklaces, bracelets and rings may be worn • One pair of earrings may be worn, with one earring per ear lobe • Bags for carrying school books and equipment should be robust, functional(i.e. sufficient to carry A4 files and large books) and in keeping with the overall appearance of the Dress Code
Make-up
• Make-up should be discreet/classic • No extreme/loud/garish make-up will be allowed This dress code is not relaxed during exam periods, when attending Parents’ Evenings or when on duty in any capacity in school. If any girl is unsure whether any item is appropriate, before purchasing please consult the designated member of the Senior Leadership Team whose decision will be final.
To be worn under the jacket
• Shirt or blouse (long or short-sleeved, buttoned and collared) • There is a free choice of colour (one colour throughout, not multi-coloured or patterned) • For formal occasions, a white shirt or blouse is required • No polo shirts
Prefect Team Dress Code
As these girls are important ambassadors for and role models within the school, we expect our Prefect Team to adopt the above Dress Code All Sixth Form girls will be expected to adhere to the current Sixth Form dress code regulations. In practice this means that girls will NOT wear the following: • Tops with straps narrower than 3cms or which reveal bra straps • Plunging backs or necklines • Short tops or low-rise trousers which reveal bare midriffs • Skirts which are shorter than mid-thigh (even when worn with tights) • Any clothes with holes in them • Skirts with frayed edges • Waistlines which are so low that underwear is visible • Facial piercings (including nose studs) • More than one earring in each ear • Flip-flops and après-ski boots or Uggs (or Ugg-type boots) • Extreme or obviously unnatural colours or styles of hair • Heavily applied make-up • Hats Again, if any girl is unsure whether any item is appropriate, please consult the designated member of the Senior Leadership Team.
Tights
• Opaque black, navy or dark grey • In summer, nude/natural sheer tights • Tights should always be worn and be in good condition
Footwear
• Smart court shoes (not boots) (up to a maximum 7.5cm heel, with or without platform sole) with a closed toe and closed heel • Shoes should be black, navy or dark grey (in one block colour, chosen to complement the colour of the suit) and of a polishable leather • Stiletto heels are not allowed
Outdoor Coats
• Outdoor coats should be of a plain, dark colour and must be longer than the suit jacket. Leather and fur are not suitable fabrics. • Smart hats may be worn with outdoor wear only.
Hair
• Natural hair colours • Two-tone or multi-coloured hair is not allowed • Hair should be neat, clean and moderate in style • Headscarves worn for religious reasons should be plain navy blue 8
