We want our girls to be high achievers in every aspect of their lives and we recognise that now, more than ever, they will need far more than just excellent examination results to meet the challenges of the modern world. So if you are thinking about where your daughter wants to go, come and discover the possibilities on offer at Croydon High School. We believe, with the right opportunities, she could go anywhere.

Amy, Reception Wants to be a vet one day. Best thing about Croydon High? Mrs Garrard’s funny jokes.
Go-Discover You think your daughter is unique. So do we. We know that every single one of our girls is an individual and we celebrate that fact. When your daughter joins Croydon High Nursery, she’ll be welcomed into a warm and caring environment where learning is fun and being happy is always the most important thing.
Years of experience have taught us that girls respond best when they are secure and happy. That is why we are able to stretch even our youngest girls to achieve more than you could imagine. We welcome girls into our Nursery from the term immediately following their third birthday. The school day is structured, as the girls enjoy the routine, but our priority is to ensure that they develop confidence and independence within a safe yet stimulating environment. The foundations for future learning Gisela, Nursery Loves working on the computer and thinks she’ll be an artist when she’s ‘big’.
are laid here.
Tania, Year 1 Describes herself as ‘always excited’. Wants to be a doctor – and loves Spanish Club.
Go-Create Creativity in all forms is encouraged right from the beginning, with dressing up, music, art and good old fashioned make believe games in the playground. Our girls never cease to amaze us with the enthusiasm, imagination and creativity they bring to every school day.
Penny, Year 1 Loves ballet…and very proud that she got a distinction in her exam.
Go-Learn At Croydon High Junior School you are guaranteed a warm Reception. Junior School is very special. It’s your daughter’s first step on the road to future academic success and we are committed to making sure she makes the best possible start. Her dreams may be small now but, just like her, they will grow quickly. We want to give her the confidence to believe she can do anything in a learning environment where she is stretched and supported every step of the way. We believe in a balance between traditional education and learning through play and experience. Everything the girls do has a purpose, but they are usually too busy enjoying themselves to realise they are learning. You will notice it though; as we develop her thirst for knowledge, her interest in everything and her ability to work alongside others in these key years of her education.
Maddy, Year 2 Wants to be a music teacher and would love a dog, but Mum and Dad say not yet “ because we’re having a loft extension”.

Go-Explore With a firm foundation established in Reception, girls progress through Juniors gaining confidence and discovering more about themselves and their world with every year. We encourage, support and inspire our girls to ‘have a go’ and try new things to help them find out what they are good at – because even at this young age, challenge, opportunity and diversity are important in developing skills and confidence. Everyone who wants to take part is encouraged to do so. We help our girls to explore and enjoy the world around them, to understand the value of friendship and to develop the high standards of behaviour, confidence and care for others that we expect from all in our school community. Our girls are bright and eager to learn. Inspirational teaching and a focus on the individual helps them develop their own unique skills and talents, maximises their personal potential and prepares them academically, emotionally and socially to make an easy, seamless transition to our Senior School in Year 7.
Ivana and Shreeya, Year 2 Both love reading and discovering new things. The best thing about Croydon High is making really good friends.
Go-Further Croydon High has an impressive reputation for academic success. Our girls consistently achieve outstanding results at GCSE, AS and A Level and we are very proud of them and of our fantastic teaching staff. But our school is so much more than this. We are committed to encouraging every girl to discover her passion in life. It may be art, drama, sport, music, dance; it may be Chemistry, History or Economics. Whatever it is and wherever she wants to go with it, we are ready to support her all the way. Our unparalleled emphasis on individual care and a wide range of extra-curricular activities will stretch her imagination and her horizons.

Carlotta, Year 7 Has a secret sweetie drawer for midnight feasts. Plans to be a vet one day.
Go-Higher In the Senior School, just as in the Juniors, we firmly believe that happy students are successful students and we do our utmost to create a caring, sympathetic and inspiring environment in which the girls can thrive. We pride ourselves on how well we know our girls; we know how to bring out the best in them and we do that consistently. Our clear aim is to enable the girls to reach their full potential. We also strive to instil them with determination, a desire to succeed and recognition of their own individual talents and capabilities. We firmly believe that everyone can be a winner.
Jemma, Year 8 Always dreamed of being a doctor, but lately has discovered a passion for architecture. Decisions, decisions!
Tanisha, Year 7 Apart from becoming a radio presenter, is planning to invent a new sort of doughnut… which she’ll call ‘The Tishanator’.
Go-Compete The girls benefit enormously from the sports facilities and excellent opportunities available to them. Many compete at extremely high levels – something that is celebrated by everyone at the school. We encourage healthy competition because we know that the girls will need to compete at the highest level if they are going to secure the bright futures we all want for them. Fiercely fought inter-house contests reveal that our girls have a real desire to take part and to win. We believe in them, we put trust in them and we have high expectations. Because of this, Croydon High girls believe in themselves and in an increasingly competitive world, self belief is a valuable commodity.
Megan, Year 9 Definitely wants to be a PE teacher. U13’s Tennis, Hockey and Netball teams. Plays the guitar. Best thing about Croydon High is ‘how it’s built my confidence’.
Cora, Year 11 Has loved all sports at Croydon High – “ but the South Africa tour was the best!”
Go-Perform Performance is measured in many ways at Croydon High. The girls are monitored closely in terms of their academic development within a broad and well balanced curriculum. Expectations are made clear and high standards are maintained and there is a real sense of pride in the school and in the girls themselves. In Drama and Music, the girls’ performances are outstanding every year with many of them taking part in a wide range of productions both in and outside school. Similarly, our Art Department inspires an exceptional level of dedication. Artwork of the highest standard is on display at our Summer Exhibition and – throughout the year – proudly presented around the school.
Sophia, Year 10 …aspiring journalist. Best thing about Croydon High? “The teacher-pupil relationship.”

Go-Forward Moving on to Sixth Form is all about making decisions. Choosing AS and A2 Level subjects and making choices about third level education and future careers can seem daunting. Entering the Sixth Form at Croydon High and
embracing
the
opportunities
presented by GO-ED is, we believe, the secret of Sixth Form success. The contemporary Sixth Form centre allows the girls to study in specially designated areas. There is also plenty of
space
to
share
ideas
and
just
relax with good friends in the cafĂŠ or Common Room.
Megan, Year 12 Planning for a career in Paediatrics. Has a Saturday job in a bakery and LOVES to bake, but unfortunately burns anything that goes near an oven.
Go-Power GO-ED in the Sixth Form takes girl power at A Level to new heights. The girls can be themselves, doing what they do best in a relaxed, yet aspirational environment that is underpinned by outstanding academic performance. The Head of Sixth Form leads a team of dedicated
teachers
who
have
huge
experience in guiding girls through these vital two years. Our Sixth Formers remain involved in the life of the school, acting as role models for the younger girls and taking on responsibilities that develop their leadership and mentoring skills.
Temi, Year 12 Passionate about human rights and an active member of Amnesty International. Considering a career in (ethical) Banking.
Jennifer, Year 12 “Croydon High has allowed me to express myself through performance and built my confidence for everyday life.
