The Worry Monster
This is The Worry Monster. He is big and blue, with little white hairs and big grey eyes. He is always with me.
He is there when I go to sleep at night,
and he is there when I wake up in the morning.
There are days when he tells me that I am safer inside, away from the world.
Is he right?
There are other days when I forget he is even there,
and I think this makes him sad,
Sometimes, he doesn’t let me do anything else apart from spend time with him.
There are days when I find comfort in him, he is all I have.
Some days, he is really
BIG.
And it can begin to feel like time is running out...
But he can also be really
small,
And it can feel like I have got all the time in the world.
But he always finds a way to creep back in...
Sometimes, when he gets too much, I lock him out.
But then I get scared of being all alone, so I let him back in.
I am strong enough to chase him out. And I am also strong enough to let him stay...
He will always be with me, and that is ok.
