“ Ya Gotta know where to Go….The FUN Starts Here….”
“Remember the reason for the season!” Going to keep this simple this week…
For unto you is born
We are thankful and grateful for all of you our readers and followers. From all of us here at the Gearhead Gazzette, we wish you the Merriest of Christmases!
this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
We hope Santa brings you all you wished for and more. Keep our troops in your thoughts and prayers as they stand guard for us, to enjoy this special time of year, any way we like.

Road Rumblings….
Koul Tools Making Hose Assembly Easier We all have to build AN hoses, and we know the pain of assembling braided lines by hand. But stainless braided lines aren’t the only plumbing hassle in the shop, push-lock fittings can be a chore to assemble, and damaged AN fittings add up real quick in plumbing costs.
then went into production. This little EZ-ON hose press will do -4 to -16 push-lock fittings all in one little case.”
Dick Raczuk of KOUL TOOLS Has been innovating tools to help enthusiasts since he retired from ownership of Kerker Exhaust in 1985, guess retirement will have to wait.
The latest tool still in development is a play on Koul Tools Sureseat Lapping tool. Say you have a damaged or leaky fitting that is welded to another expensive part like a tank. You don’t want to have to cut welds and re attach a new fitting so Raczuk came up with a solution. “One of our latest tools is the Sureseat linelapper. I was working on my ’35 Packard and had a fuel leak so I came up with the idea for this to save it,” he explained. “Say you have a damaged fitting on a bung on a tank, you’re not going to take it off and put another one on. Now you’re going to be able to screw this sleeve on and come in with the reverse diamond dust lapping tool. You save the fitting, save the day and save the race.”
“I’m a hobbyist and enthusiast myself of course, working on my own projects I started building my 1941 Graham Hollywood and decided to put a Cadillac Northstar in it, then I decided to twin-turbo it, which made for a lot of plumbing!” Raczuk recalled. “I hadn’t done any plumbing before that, I designed my own tool and guys would come into the shop and say ‘that’s a cool tool,’ and in the past 10 years we’ve sold over 20,000 of these and never had one back.”
Look for the latest tool in six to eight months.
A fixture to hold your plumbing and a little mechanical advantage make easy work of assembly push-lock hoses. Raczuk explained; “We have our EZ-ON hose press, I started doing push-lock fittings and couldn’t assemble them so I made a prototype and 6
This years SEMA Show saw more trucks then ever before inside and outside. Truth be told, there probably were more trucks than cars at this years show. Here is a small sampling of trucks on display.

We have attended this cool event in the past and we can tell you, that you really need both days if you truly want to see it all. Add in a pair of comfortable walking shoes, sunglasses and a hat too!
When you say roadsters at LARS, you are talking about 1000, give or take a few, true Roadsters. This truly is a worldwide event as hot rodders from around the globe come to Southern California to be part of the show. There are always a fair number of non-California based roadsters at the show, including some that were shipped in from outside the USA! Hot rodders love their roadsters!

For the 52nd time, the L.A. Roadsters Car Club held its annual Show & Swap event. The Pomona Fairplex is and has been the home for this great event, for many years now, and the layout used makes it easy to see everything.
It’s a simple formula for the LA ROADSTERS Members….cool roadsters, a great (BIG) swap meet and plenty of parking for specialty cars (pre-72 non roadsters). It gives show goers a lot of variety, depending on their likes. 10
We dig all those cool roadsters, but the specialty car parking area is a big favorite of ours too. It fills up with all kinds of cool rides! Quite honestly we think there are as many non roadsters as roadsters in this area of the event.
When we say the Swap meet is BIG we mean it. Depending on what you are looking for, it is a day plus to see all the vendors, if you just walked all the aisles. Add in some FED’s and some cackle time, a neat display of some of the Dry Lakes/Bonneville racers and call this event awesome again in 2016. The 53rd edition of this great event will take place in 2017 on Fathers Day weekend, so make your plans now to be part of the Roadster Show fun!

Every June, on the Friday before Fathers Day, So-Cal Speed Shop throws it’s doors open to host it’s OPEN HOUSE event. It’s a pre-event to the LA Roadsters show that runs during Fathers day weekend. The turnout is huge. So big in fact that with cooperation of the Pomona Police Dept, they close a portion of Grand Ave in front of So-Cal down to park all the hot rods that come out.
Add in food trucks, great weather, a NIITRO funny car to cackle and it’s nothing but big time fun! Check out just a few of the HUNDREDS of cool hot rods that were part of the fun!
