“ Ya Gotta know where to Go….The FUN Starts Here….” tell us what you would like to see in the Gearhead Gazzette.
What happened to the car show and car features?
While we may not reply to each letter or email we get, we do read them all. You voice is important to us and the Gearhead Gazzette is about you! We also want to say WELCOME and We’re GLAD YOU ARE HERE to al our new subscribers and readers. Each week our mailing list grows with more gearheads riding along with all of you and enjoying the Gearhead Gazzette Magazine.
Here’s a question I have been asked over the last few weeks, by more than a few of our readers, both by mail and in person when I have been at an event or just running into them. Never fear, we have not stopped including them in our publication. Fact is we try to keep the magazine at no more than 90 pages, so it’s not too big and overwhelming to read. We already pack a lot of event info (our core mission) weekly but here the past few weeks, due to the HUGE number of events taking place ( see I told you fall was busy) the magazine has swelled a bit with event info. We have feature material lined up to use and include in upcoming issues. As the weather cools in most of the USA the events will throttle back and we will have the feature articles back in each issue for you. While talking about features, tell us what you would like to see in the Gearhead Gazzette. Send us an email, snail mail, give us a message on FACEBOOK or however you can get us your thoughts and idea’s.
EVENT FLYERS: As you plan your club, group or organizations 2019 events, please keep this in mind. One of the BEST WAYS to get more participants at your event is to have a flyer for that event. It gets you extra exposure. When you create that flyer, MAKE SURE you include the Town, State and physical location for your event. DO NOT assume everyone knows where you are at….they don’t! We get a lot of flyers as you can imagine and many do not have the basic location info on them. We use them but we get asked where is the event at. If you had the info on your flyer, it makes it easier for gearheads to show up at your event!

Explaining 40 Years of Neglect in 40 Minutes Trying to understand the growing problems facing land speed racers on the Bonneville Salt Flats, host Mark Greene invited me to be a guest on Cars Yeah and explain in easy detail how the amateur motorsports has been kicked around trying to protect the nation's fastest natural speedway. I love Mark’s motto: "Inspiring Automotive Enthusiasts™ However, part of the deal meant I had to talk about how I became part of the world motorsports community. Once I get through that with Mark, it provided a great outreach opportunity to educate listeners about the efforts of Save the Salt and Utah Alliance to correct the dire circumstances facing all the amateur land speed racers out on the Bonneville Salt Flats. Listeners will come away with the understanding why motorsports worldwide can thank the Bureau of Land Management for decades of mind-blowing mismanagement.
• The interview is now live on Cars Yeah, iTunes, Google Play, Spotify, and Stitcher. •
If you can, please share this interview on your website, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and other social media with this link: Cars Yeah

This show includes a "Call to Action" that allows you to let your voice be heard in the halls of Congress in Washington, DC asking to preserve our world famous International Speedway for the ordinary people to achieve extraordinary speed feats. "LandSpeed" Louise Ann Noeth 6
The Deed is Done! Turbinator II First to 500 MPH Dateline: Tuesday, October 2, 2018 11:04AM MST Contact: "LandSpeed" Louise Ann Noeth 805.312.0893 Bonneville Salt Flats, Utah - TEAM Vesco Turbinator II cools down after driver Dave Spangler roared into history as the first wheel-driven automobile to exceed 500MPH on Utah's Bonneville Salt Flats.
The speed machine averaged 493MPH in the measured mile and recorded a 503MPH mark as it exited the timing lights - indicating the car was still accelerating. "Dave drove the car straight and true," said jubilant Team Matriarch "Jinx" Vesco. "We have looked over everything and nothing was hurt, we are ready for our record run! It's been a very long time in coming."
On Wednesday morning, or later this afternoon (weather permitting) the team will make a return run to satisfy record requirements of the Southern California Timing Association (SCTA), the second run will be averaged to determine new National Record. TEAM Vesco was the Top Record Setter at the Utah Salt Flats Racing Association (USFRA) World of Speed in September with a 482MPH Class record that exceeded the team's current World Record of 458MPH. In August, at the venerable SCTA Speed Week, the team earned the HOT ROD Magazine Top Time Trophy with a 463.038mph in class 3/T. Powered by a Lycoming T3 turbine tuned by Advanced Turbine Services, the engine feeds a bespoke reduction gear case that distributes the blistering horsepower to all four wheels simultaneously. World Finals Race Director and SCTA President Pat McDowell added, "Our organization is very glad to part of history. The is an epic event and amazingly, 500 miles-per-hour DOES look different than 400." 7

When Hot Wheels launched the original “Sweet 16” die-cast cars in 1968, they were considered some of the most influential and legendary cars in automotive history. And now, we’re hitting the road to find custom cars worthy of joining them as HOT WHEELS LEGENDS. One finalist from each of the 15 cities will join us at SEMA 2018 in Las Vegas, where one lucky winner will be immortalized as a Hot Wheels Legend and transformed into a die-cast car sold around the world. Don’t miss this family friendly event! Enter your custom car into the competition or come witness the epic event! Each stop will include: Lifesize Hot Wheels Fleet of Cars, 2018 Camaro Hot Wheels Anniversary Edition cars, Photo Ops, Hot Wheels Kids Zone, Microsoft Forza Gaming Zone, Historical Die-Cast Display, Car & Pop Culture Influencers. More Info & Enter Your Car: http:// hotwheels.com/legends Register your car: http://bit.ly/HWLegendsRegistration Check out the official rules to enter your car: http://bit.ly/2vnWSH7. What We're Looking For In A Car:- Authenticity: Have you ever seen a car and said, “That looks like a Hot Wheels?” We’re looking for that “Hot Wheels-ness” that nails the amazing performance and outrageous design we’re known for. – Originality: We’ve made over 25,000 unique vehicle models in the past 50 years, so we’re looking for something with unique details that stands out from the rest. - Garage Spirit: It’s built, not bought, just like Hot Wheels. We’re looking to see some elbow grease that ex-
emplifies the challenger spirit it took to build. Entries will be judged by five criteria (20 points per criteria = 100 points total). Even Legends play by the rules!
