“ Ya Gotta know where to Go….The FUN Starts Here….”

Just go have some gearhead fun... Choices are good ….

have a third choice on a major show/event to attend if they choose. Based on discussions I have been part of over the last couple of weeks, and watching and reading comments on social media pages and outlets, there is a fair amount of “energy” shall I say about the GOODGUYS show being on the same weekend as the NSRA Nat’s South and the REDNECK RUMBLE. After some discussion with a GOODGUYS Rep about this, GOODGUYS didn't pick the weekend for the Nashville Nationals...it was dealt to them by the City of Nashville, as they control the Titans Stadium. Based on what I learned GOODGUYS didn't come to Nashville on the same weekend to try and take folks away from the other 2 events. They did take the weekend as they like being in Nashville for the event they produce. Let’s go back to the start of this column. Yes there are 3 major events in Middle Tennessee this weekend. Instead of being upset, pick one and go have some gearhead fun. If you want, go to 2 of them...it’s all good Live It Fully Everyday

In life, not being limited to just one thing is looked at as a good thing. With options, we get to make ourselves the happiest, be cause we get to chose versus being limited to just one thing or worse, being forced to accept only one option. It’s like being in the cookie aisle at the food store...so many choices...so little time...LOL. So it is this weekend in the Middle Tennessee and Mid-South region of the USA. Many many gearhead choices for hot rod fun await hot rodders. For many years, the first weekend in May means the NSRA Nationals South in Knoxville await street rodders. Additionally for a number of years, the Spring Redneck Rumble has taken place on the same weekend on Friday and Saturday in Lebanon Tennessee, east of Nashville Tennessee. Both are great events and a fun time…. we know as we have been to both over the years. For 2019 another event got thrown into the mix. The GOOGUYS Nashville Nationals got moved to the first weekend in May. More on this move in a little bit, but as you can see, gearheads in the MidSouth and those coming to the MidSouth from other states and area’s 5

Art Morrison Releases 1963-67 Corvette Stingray GT Sport Chassis New from Art Morrison – the 1963-67 Corvette Stingray GT Sport chassis. This chassis offers significant improvements in handling and ride while accommodating a lower ride height and use of wider tires. See more details below. Official Release: Highly respected chassis and suspension manufacturer Art Morrison Enterprises has added to its line of “bolt on” GT Sport chassis with a superbly engineered gem for the iconic 1963-67 Corvette Stingray. This, the 11th in AME’s series of GT Sport chassis engineered to replace OEM frames, features the latest in 3D laser scanning technology. While the original Stingray did feature independent front and rear suspensions, Morrison’s engineering team has supplanted the 50-year-old designs with AME’s Multi-Link I.R.S. and the acclaimed Sport I.F.S. which offer significant improvements in handling and ride. The track width is slightly narrower than stock, which accommodates a lower ride height and use of wider tires. Chassis can be configured with ride heights either 1-3/4″ or 3″ lower than OEM. The lower CG is, of course, an important handling benefit. The frame boasts a triangulated structure that significantly stiffens the front end, has hefty 0.180″ wall rails, and special rear gussets to reduce torsional twist. Other features include crossmember passageways for the exhaust and mounts for SBC, BBC, or LS/LT series engines and all popular automatic and standard shift transmissions.

Representing the epitome of what a restomod is all about, AME’s new GT Sport chassis for C2 ‘Vettes combines contemporary handling, ride and stance with the Stingray’s classic styling. Features: Multi-Link I.R.S Significant improvements in handling and ride

Syclone Blows Into GMC Dealerships After 27 years, second-stage vehicle manufacturer Specialty Vehicle Engineering has announced the return of the iconic GMC Sycloneperformance pickup. Now powered by a 455-hp supercharged 3.6-liter V-6 engine, the Syclone release will be capped at 100 Limited Edition vehicles available at select GMC dealerships. The sport trucks will be based on 2019 GMC Canyon 2WD and 4WD extended cab models and offered in all factory colors.

Enhancements include a high-performance brake upgrade that features 6-piston forged front calipers in red with black Syclone graphics, and two-piece, 13.6-inch-diameter slotted front rotors. Handling is improved by the addition of a Sport Suspension Package that lowers the truck 2 inches up front and 5 inches in the rear and includes heavy-duty traction bars, spring bushings and rear sway bar, plus higher-rated front and rear performance shock absorbers. A stainless steel cat-back, dual-exit exhaust system adds performance while providing a true sports car-like sound. Wheel and tire upgrades include 20x9 front and rear five-spoke alloy wheels with Syclone graphics on one spoke, and Y-rated front and rear performance tires. Exterior features include a unique, OEM-quality composite hood insert with 455HP chrome and red badges, body-color composite rocker panel extensions, OEM-quality door and tailgate badges, body color front grille surround, grille bars and rear bumper. The interior features a custom seat trim package with red Syclone graphics embroidered on the seat backs, custom front logo floor mats, numbered dash plaque (1-100) with 455HP called out, and two Syclone numbered key fobs. Each of the 100 vehicles will include a numbered Manufacturer’s Certificate of Origin.
