“ Ya Gotta know where to Go….The FUN Starts Here….”

a keepsake for an event you attended Did anyone every tell you that you have too many T-Shirts….

I will fess up and say that I have a LOT of shirts! 2 dressers full and a closet and more. While I may not have as many as some of you, I got a lot of people beat on sheer quantity.

Car T-shirts….we all have them. Maybe a few of you don’t (and why not?), but my guess is that everyone one of your gearheads, men and women both have a collection of car themed t-shirts. When I say car shirts, that is all encompassing. Truthfully the shirts are probably more event shirts and shirts from hot rod shops or “car” type businesses. You may have got some for free (always great!) or you bought that shirt as a keepsake for an event you attended or a car place you visited. You may not even have a cool ride but you attend events because you enjoy going to shows and events. Sometimes we buy the shirts to help support a cause or fund raiser (hot rodders are the best at giving) even though it may not have that design that we really dig, but we do it anyway because of what the money goes for.

I have a problem with the shirts I have amassed over 45 plus years of car fun… I have a very hard time getting rid of them. You may have the same problem too. The reason I have this problem is these shirts, the simple colorful logo t-shirts tell the story of my hot rod fun over the years. They are a HUGE part of my life story and the travels and journeys I have taken. When I look at them it is just like a photo album of my hot rod fun. What does your t-shirt album look like? I bet your is just as cool as mine is. Why not open it up today and take a look back at tall the fun you have had so far... Live It Fully Everyday

UTAH VOTES $5 MILLION TO RESTORE BONNEVILLE SALT FLATS State funds will work in concert with federal money to restore the 13-mile international raceway

Pop the champagne! Rattle your salt shaker! It’s time to celebrate! The Utah State Legislature approved a $5 million appropriation to restore the Bonneville Salt Flats as part of the state budget. In the past few weeks, Utah legislators received upwards of 1,000 emails from the motorsports community which helped focus much needed attention on the critical funding request. The money will help support a program to restore the iconic land formation in northwestern Utah. “This marks the first public dollars appropriated to restore the depleted salt surface since the land speed racing community began its quest more than 30 year ago,” said Save the Salt Foundation Vice Chairman Tom Burkland. “This is a job well done. Land speed racers the world over say, ‘Thank You Utah!’” Lawmakers authorized the Utah Department of Natural Resources to create a “Restore Bonneville” program to increase the volume of salt being pumped onto the Bonneville Salt Flats by Intrepid Potash, Inc. Racing community representatives have worked with lawmakers, regulators and Intrepid Potash, Inc. to craft the 10-year project. Salt brine pumping levels will dramatically rise as a result of infrastructure upgrades. The racing venue should gradually expand from its current length of about 8 miles with the goal of reaching its original 13-mile length. State funds become available on July 1, 2019. Utah lawmakers made the appropriation contingent on securing a commitment for monies from outside sources. The bulk of the estimated additional $45 million needed over 10 years will come from the federal government, with contributions as well from the motorsports community. Attention will now turn to the U.S. Congress and the U.S. Bureau of Land Management to appropriate funds and make commitments so that Restore Bonneville becomes a reality. The Bonneville Salt Flats is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Save the Salt Foundation is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to restore the Bonneville Salt Flats working with the Utah Alliance, a Utah-based organization with the same mission. The Save the Salt Coalition is an umbrella group comprised of automotive and motorsports companies and organizations with a vested interest in this national treasure.
