While a vehicle may not be my favorite, I don’t appreciate the owners pride in what they have and I don’t make any comment on it.

2020 has not been the most fun year for many of us...heck hardly any of us. It has thrown us some curve balls to say the least. One thing I have noticed lately, especially on social media, where its easy to lob comments without being face to face, is the amount of negativity and mean spiritedness out there. Maybe I am living in a bubble (don’t pop it please) but there is not a lot of good reasons for it...my opinion. I see comments being made on the many different “car/hot rod” pages I belong to on FACEBOOK, that are down right wrong. Again my opinion. Gearheads post their vehicles and share their pic’s because they are proud of what they have. We all do it and I will raise my hand first. What makes me feel bad or mad is when some folks, a small percentage of those checking out a post, post up a derogatory or snide comment about the vehicle. Now I again will raise my hand first and say that every vehicle posted that I see, is not my style or type.

Aa a real life example, awhile back I posted a pic of one of the GREAT 8 cars at the Detroit Autorama. Just recently someone came across the shot and made and posted a terrible comment on the vehicle. There was no need to do this. It gained nothing but possibly hurt feelings for the car owner . The comments did nothing positive. Why not try some kindness instead. Like we are taught, “if you cant say something nice, then don't say anything at all”. Life is short folks and the days fly by. It’s easier to be nice then grumpy and being mean spirited. Just try some kindness net time, and you’ll see it’s easy and goes a long way Live It Fully Everyday

New Chevy C10 Truck Housings From Strange Engineering If you’re the proud owner of a Chevy C10, you know they’re great trucks. Unfortunately, when GM’s engineers first designed them, they didn’t foresee the hordes of hot rodders these workhorses had in their future. The 12-bolt rear ends they equipped the pickups with weren’t exactly geared for time spent at the drag strip or stoplight to stoplight competitions – no pun intended. While the stout 12and 14-bolt rear ends were great for hauling heavy payloads, they were never intended to haul ass.

Luckily for the modern hot rodder, the folks at Strange Engineering have rectified that street truck injustice. They’ve just released an all-new truck housing for ’67-’72 and ’73-’87 C10. Now, you may be thinking, why not just build the 12bolt my truck came with? Okay, sure. That is an option, but you’d be missing out on some key upgrades afforded by switching to a Ford 9-inch-based housing like the one from Strange. For example, you’re afforded the ability to change your setup pretty easily by switching to a rear end that can swap gears via a 3rd member as opposed to a conventional Chevy rear end with c-clip style axles and spider gears. Of course, this is nothing new. Hot rodders have been swapping out Chevy rear ends for their Ford counterparts since back-in-the-day. For good reason, too. Not only do you gain the ability to swap gears via the 3rd member, but you eliminate the need for cclip retention, which we all know is not the hot-ticket in terms of holding things together back there. If you’re planning on making serious power, you don’t want to worry about shearing an axle because of a c-clip. Having bolt-in axles like the ones Strange’s new C10 rear end utilizes is a huge upgrade. If that’s not enough incentive for someone to switch rear end design, there’s also the matter of rear disc brakes. Sure, there are options for the 10- and 12-bolt variety, but there seem to be a much larger amount of options for Ford 9-inch style axle flanges. But don’t simply take our word for it. Ford Celebrating ’66 Daytona 24 Hour Win with GT Heritage Edition The Ford GT is America’s only Le Mans-winning supercar, and taking this pinnacle of Ford Performance even further for 2021, Ford has revealed two new enhancements – the first-ever Heritage Edition inspired by the original model’s first endurance win at the 1966 Daytona 24 Hour Continental race, plus an all-new Studio Collection package offering additional design enhancements.

“For this Heritage Edition, the Ford Performance team went deeper into the Ford GT’s race history and crafted a limited-edition model that stylistically honors the 55th anniversary of the Daytona 24 Hour endurance race that would eventually lead to our successes at Le Mans,” said Mike Severson, Ford GT program manager. “Plus, for customers who want to highlight the carbon-fiber body and functional cooling ducts that help deliver Le Mans-winning performance, the Ford GT Studio Collection offers another new way GT fans can personalize their supercars.” The latest Heritage Edition to join the Ford GT supercar family is a tribute to the winner of the 1966 Daytona 24 Hour Continental, where Ford achieved its first 24-hour endurance win, which is captured in the 2019 film “Ford v Ferrari” – or “Le Mans ’66,” as it is known in Europe. “Miles and Ruby led nearly every lap of the 24-hour race and outpaced the competition by 30 miles,” said Severson. “The win was the first time anyone had threatened Ferrari’s dominance in sports car racing and represented a turning point in the Ford GT race program.” Inspired by the white, black and red exterior of the 1966 endurance-winning Ford GT40 MK II race car, the new 2021 Ford GT Heritage Edition features Frozen White exterior paint with exposed carbon fiber hood adding stark contrast. Ford Performance also revealed an exclusive series new to the supercar lineup, the Ford GT Studio Collection. This all-new graphics package with customizable colors highlights key styling elements, including the functional cooling ducts that helps the 2021 Ford GT deliver all 660 horsepower during the most strenuous, high-temperature sessions at the track. Only 40 cars are slated to receive the Studio Collection package across the 2021 and 2022 model years. The body and graphics can be customized with seven standard colors or further personalized with an extended palette offering endless color combinations for even greater exclusivity. Deliveries of the 2021 model year Ford GT begin in early 2021, with Ford GT production wrapping up in 2022. 7

The event is from 3 pm to 7 pm. We will also have vendors, a costume contest with monetary prizes, and art contest and a window contest to get the town in the spirit of the event. There will be a beer, wine and margarita tent and live 1950s music. all types of vehicles can enter not just 50s. To register to be judged for the prize money there is a 10.00 registration fee. The first prize is 200.00, second is 100.00, third is 50.00. All prizes are peoples choice awards. Monetary prizes will also be given for 50s costume wear, a visual art contest and a shop window contest.
