JJ Smith principles enjoy a successful Ligna

Four of JJ Smith’s principle manufacturing partners – Comec Group, Essepigi, Intorex and Pade – enjoyed a successful Ligna show, reporting a number of unexpected but welcome orders and a good level across the board of genuine, new, solid enquiries.

Comec had an impressive stand showcasing a number of their specialist CNC machining solutions for door frames, garden products, solid wood furniture, drawer fronts and drawer boxes. Two orders were placed from UK customers during the show, the first was for an MD TOP CNC machining centre for furniture parts with the second being an MD JAMB CNC for door frames.

Essepigi who have already installed a number of high specification door and frame production lines in the UK reported visits from a number of leading UK door manufactures looking to invest in the latest door production technology.

Intorex had on demonstration a number of new products and innovations including the all new TRO CNC lathe with router head and tool changer, plus a TMC five-axis CNC machining centre featuring the special rotary CNC table option that gives the facility to finish machine components on their ends. The robotic loading and unloading system linked to the CRM rotary lathe was a real show stopper and highlights the ever growing importance of automatic handling. wwwjjsmith.co.uk

From Pade there was the new high speed six-axis Duet CNC gantry construction machining centring together with the hugely popular and extremely versatile Clipper CNC which is ideal for machining of complex shaped parts from solid wood and composite materials.
