KID REPORTER

CLOSE UP on Crayon Court! By Kortney

On October 10, I saw Crayon Court at the Geffen Theater. I was very excited to learn that I was chosen as a kid reporter! I have not seen a lot of plays before but I have performed in a few. Crayon Court, I have to say was the best. I think it was the best because the cast was really funny and the best part, I got to interview them! We went into the green room where we sat down to talk. They had my favorite snack, donuts. Everyone was really nice. When I interviewed Tommy Fountain, the creator, he said that he was doing good. In the play Mr. Fountain is a puppeteer. It is his fourth appearance at the Geffen and he thinks that the audience is a very important part of the play. I also talked to the actor who played Mr. Beaux Art. His favorite food is pizza and his favorite tv show is Sabrina the Teenage Witch and sometimes Mr. Beaux Art gets stage fright but he likes to put his mind on something else. His mother often says that he started acting very early, even when he was a baby! Monet, another character in the play, loves split pea soup and she also likes Sabrina the Teenage Witch. She was 13 when she appeared in her first play. I think you’ll like this play because there are a lot of cool songs, plenty of puppets and surprises and it’s educational too. You’ll learn about primary, secondary and tertiary colors, but it will be so much fun it’s not like you’ll notice you’re learning!
