The first Ghost Recon title in more than four years is something of a radical departure for the series, with Shadow Wars taking the form of a tactical turn-based strategy game.

The latest in the popular action series promises to offer fans and newcomers another intense, chaotic hack and slash masterpiece, drawing on characters from throughout the game's seven-year history.

The footy classic goes 3D for the first time, and is set to offer gamers an "immersive take on the soccer genre by mixing the PES series’ acclaimed level of control and realism with the added dimensions of the Nintendo 3DS."

Designed by Julian Gollop, the legendary developer behind X-Com and Laser Squad Nemesis, Shadow Wars will have an "Advance Wars feel", and put players in command of six characters. Each will have unique abilities and equipment, and the game features "deep team management options" as, levelling up, and various equipment options.

On top of that, Samurai Warriors: Chronicles will introduce a number of useful new features that take advantage of the Nintendo 3DS' cutting edge features.
