If I had to describe myself using only a few words they would be; hard worker, adventurous and flexible. They are qualities that can define me as a person and which are always reflected, in one way or another, in my work. Art and design have been always present in my life and development as an individual, if it wasn’t for it I wouldn’t be the same person I am today. I have grown surrounded by a constant evolving art atmosphere, not only because of the outstanding and admiring environment that I have had the fortune to grow in, but also because of the work of an incredible man as CÊsar Manrique. His work has inspired me to see that we can make a piece of art of every small thing that surrounds us. One just has to go to Lanzarote to undestand what I am talking about. What I love the most about design, is being able to work with people with different backgrounds, take part in projects from various fields and combine the aspects I learn from all of them in my future works. If I am sure of one thing in my life is that everyday is a good day to learn something new. That is why hroughout my studies I have developed not only a passion for product design but an interest in many different fields such as; painting, furniture design, interior design, graphic design, set design, jewellery design and dancing. For me design is a form of expression, it is blending art and technique, it is a way of adapting our surrounding and to be able to create a better place to live in.

Design of a small and light bedside table easy to assemble and construct. It has two

shelves, a superior shelf to put a lamp or leave a mobile phone and a lower shelf made with leather stripes for a book, a tablet or a small object that you want to have on hand while being in bed.

And why a bedside table? The more relaxing moment of the day is when you go to bed.

The table is based on the concept of combination of textures, a cooler element like glass and a warmer material such as wood. This texture combination and the visual image created by the broken and burned wood brings me memories of the island I was born. An island wore down and burned by the wind and the volcanic material of centuries.

I want to show different ways of working with wood to obtain different finishes where

the beauty is on the “imperfections” of the object and not on the symmetry and cleanness.

You can adapt the design to measurements modifications. It is thought to be able to be

done in any place by anyone with a minimum of means, time and attitude. It is possible to reuse pallets, an old plank or even wood found on the street. Each wood has its own characteristics making each piece unique and existing infinite possibilities.

Create an ‘open source’ product for the habitat. It has to be accesible and manufactured anywhere in the world using local facilities.

Give a second use to materials which would not have a use otherwise. Have in mind it has to be easy to manufacture and assembly. there has to be a user interaction with the product.

s o l u t i o n We live in a busy world where there is no time to waste. “Totem” renews the concept of a valet and adapts it to today’s lifestyle. Its design allows the user to customize the final product according to his needs by combining different accessories. The height of all elements can change thanks to the simple connection system in which a pair of O-rings and tubular strands of wood which hold the accessories. Totem does not only seek to simplify our lives but also seeks to simplify materials and the manufacturing process, all the pieces are cut out from a single board using a CNC machine.

Toy for a target audience of children aged 4-6 years old. The Sailorettes is a game with a maritime theme; its objective is to combine strategy and aim. Each player has a fleet with a number of ships and sailors. The strategy is limited not only to the positioning of ships, but each player has a sticker to be placed under one of his sailors which acts as a trap for his opponent. If the opposing player knocks down the sailor with the sticker he loses. It is a versatile game, suitable for playing in water, exterior or interior surfaces; both in team or individually.

Briefing: design of a small handcrafted object that reflects the tradition of your city mixing it with modernity and which could be a souvenir. The prototype must be made by a prestigiuos valencian artisan.

On the top images you can see the process that the artisan Pepe Alabadí used to create “La Pinteta.” The prototype was completly handmade by the craftsman. The product for sale has been made using more modern techniques as waterjet. p r o c e s s

Teamwork in which we have designed the layout for a non-real magazine called “vibes”. Vibes is the magazine of a famouse social network called “Vfiles”. The logo and mostimages have been designed by us. Some of the images used have been borrowed from Vfiles. Group: Carlos Almagro, María Planes & Gemma Sancho

We have designed the layout of the articles inside, the cover, the editorial and the credits. We have also designed three adverts to go inside, like the one you can see on the photograph above.

Teamwork in which a brand identity for a non-real company was designed. The hypothetical company is a memory bank, where people can store their memories. The name Munin comes from the Norse mythology, Muninn ( “memory” in Old Norse). The logotype reminds you of a moon which brings to mind: rest, night, dreams…

The images show different uses of the brand identity as can be: the business card, stationery designing, corporate t-shirts, poster or sign.

Proyect: design a packaging for t-shirts. It has to be attractive, must have a second use and it must be easily piled up. The only material used is cardboard.

—

s o l u t i o n

The solution is a series of triangular prism boxes which can be piled in different ways to attract the customers attention. Different images are perforated on the box, Each one is related to a character; a princess, a warrior and a pirate. The accesories can be pulled out by the children and used to play with.
