Business Engage has developed the Gender Mainstreaming Awards to encourage private sector to buy in to achieving more meaningful representation of women in the mainstream of business
This is the 2nd year that the awards have been expanded into Africa, including individuals and companies in East and West Africa.
This year marks the 10th edition of the Gender Mainstreaming Awards. Accenture is currently the naming right sponsor The Accenture 10th Gender Mainstreaming Awards 2022 were also sponsored by Johannesburg Stock Exchange (silver sponsor), Assupol, Imperial, Rand Merchant Bank, Tiger Brands, and East Africa Breweries Ltd and were presented in association with the 30% Club Southern and East Africa, the Human Rights Commission, the Institute of Directors, SA Venture Capital Association and Sunday Times
Once again, the Awards Force platform was utilised for entries to be received and to have these entries accessible to the judges for judging across Africa.
In Southern Africa, Johannesburg, Durban, and Cape Town hosted physical events to identify the finalists in the run up to the final awards event in October. The event in Cape Town was hosted by RMB; RCL Foods hosted Durban; and Johannesburg was hosted at The Venue in Melrose Arch The top scoring individuals were then finalists for the Regional individual awards the Inclusive Leader Award, the Positive Role Model Award, and the RMB's Africa's Fearless Thinker Award
We are proud to have seen a phenomenal 60% increase in overall entries received from the 2021 event There has also been a big improvement in the quality of entries and the shared stories were incredible. This illustrates the value and growth of the GMAs in its 10th year.
To tell the stories, Business Engage has embarked on a process of doing recordings of all finalists These recordings will be uploaded on an ongoing basis and will be stored here
