Overall Riisk:
How is the risk curren ntly and intended to be e managed? A warning notice has been placed on the h been installed on the t carpark and lighting has building overlooking the t carpark. We also have h gritting supplies for co ombatting adverse weather. Parking spaces are marked m out, and a warning notice has been insta alled by Hull PCT that it is a private carpark. CC CTV has been installed d for safety and security pu urposes, and parking spaces have been ma arked out. Key switches have be een installed which me eans that remote operation n is not available. Shuttter also has a safety featture built into the new motor that cuts out if resistance is met befo ore it should reach the floor. Fire detection and evacuation system installed and maintained. This system is tested weekly by trained staff. Evacuation routes and rendezvous points are identified, and fire marshalls appointed in case of fire. Evacuation plan is in writing and trained to all staff and volunteers. A fire drill is conducted quarterly. All fire doors open out so that escape routes are not impeded. All proximity secured doors are fitted with emergency door releases in case of emergency. Security shutters and grilles are retracted when persons in the building. Fire extinguishers are located throughout the building with staff trained in their use.

Remote monitoring of fire alarm by central monitoring station to alert fire service of activation, and staff also carry handsets and mobiles to contact 999. Electricity circuit is fully earthed throughout the 1 building and tested annually. Trip switches are built into the electricity supply located in the downstairs office. The electricity supply cupboard is located in a secured room accessible by Senior Staff only.

Staff carry handsets and mobiles in case of emergency to contact 999 Dumb-waiter locks out when not at the floor, 1 and cannot be operated from inside the lift. Lift controls also placed high and out the reach of small children. Shelf also placed in to restrict space available to prevent climbing in.

Disabled lift is locked out unless trained staff releases it for use. Lift shaft has emergency stop cord built into the base for opening the ground floor door in case of emergency. Alarm built into the platform and emergency release keys located in main key box with sign on lift to notify everyone. All flooring on the ground floor is brand new and has been laid with secure adhesive. The kitchen and toilet flooring is secured safety flooring to prevent slips/trips. The flooring throughout the rest of the ground floor is strengthened tiles which can be replaced if damaged (spare tiles are stored in the loft). All furniture is checked periodically and any faulty items are repaired or replaced accordingly. All furniture at the time of the Risk Assessment, all equipment found to be in a good condition. The building is in a state of good repair and order, and the building is clean and tidy. All staff are aware of their responsibilities to keep their workspace clean and tidy. Hygiene notices are displayed in key areas in the building. Training is provided to all staff re safe use of equipment.

Kitchen preparation area closed to nonauthorised persons. As yet, no cooking equipment installed but safety notices and guards will be fitted upon installation (to revise risk assessment once installed). Cupboards are all fitted with locks to safeguard against utensils and equipment harmful to health when staff are not on duty. First aid equipment, fire blanket, eye wash station and fire extinguishers all located in the kitchen area, with training for staff on their use.

High visibility emergency signs fitted to adjacent walls warning or stairs and also indicating exit routes in care of power failure/emergency. Staff are trained in ways to operate in selfdefence and restraint situations. Personal attack alarms linked to a central system are worn by staff at all times. All main phones are installed with an emergency system to notify the police. Supervisory staff have access all areas security access cards to gain entry to a room. All rooms used for counselling have phones installed in case of emergency.
