Technical Specifications

General Installation Guidelines RecycleDesign™ products are shipped KD to reduce shipping and packaging costs. Please unpack and inspect components to insure that parts are complete and undamaged upon arrival. The following technical notes are intended to assist in specifying and installing our products; generally accepted A.I.A. principles and local conditions apply accordingly. Shipping and Packaging Materials RecycleDesign uses plastic foam packaging materials to protect parts in shipment. We re-use foam accumulated in our recycling operation when it is available; otherwise we use new foam. If you choose to mail the packing foam back to us, we will use it again to pack parts. HDPE Lumber Lumber profiles are extruded from recycled, high density polyethylene derived from purified milk bottle waste. Blends automatically include UV-inhibited pigment systems as well as other process additives to achieve color stability. HDPE lumber is very resistant to corrosion and moisture, and is warranted not to rot, splinter or peel. No waterproofing or staining is required or recommended. The lumber is made from purified polymers and manufactured to consistent, reproducible standards.

Powdercoat Finishes The finishing systems used with RecycleDesign™ products are 100% solids and contain no volatile organic compounds. The powdercoat resin system is polyester, a weatherable and durable material suited for exterior use. Mechanical Fasteners Standard mechanical supplies are typically a combination of vandal resistant and conventional stainless steel fasteners. Tools for custom head fasteners are supplied as necessary. Some aluminum parts are fastened with or to steel parts. This condition may promote electrolysis and degradation of the metal if not insulated. Therefore, nylon insulating washers are supplied with the assembly. Please make sure washers are installed. Notice of Claim Notice of any claim under this Warranty must be given promptly to Recycle Design, Inc. in writing along with the original purchase invoice indicating the date of purchase and purchase price, pictures of the defective Product and a detailed description of the defect. This notice shall be given no later than the earlier of (i) thirty (30) days after receipt of the Product if the claim is for a nonconformity or breach which could be discovered by visual inspection; or (ii) thirty (30) days after actual discovery of any nonconformity or breach. Any such claims shall be delivered personally or mailed postage prepaid, to Recycle Design, Inc., 804 Hazlett Street, Anderson, IN 46016, Warranty Department, and shall be effective when personally delivered, or three (3) business days after mailing if mailed in the U.S., or when received by Recycle Design, Inc. if not personally delivered or mailed in the U.S. Failure to give notice as required by this paragraph shall void any warranty and bar purchaser from any remedy. Voiding of Warranty Recycle Design, Inc. Products will have no warranty obligation with respect to the Product if any of the following events occur: (a) the Product is subjected to abuse, misuse, and negligence, improper or abnormal residential use, failure to maintain, fire, or other accident including without limitation, acts of God, or environmental pollutants; (b) installation, fabrication, engineering, service, maintenance or use of the Product is not in accordance with the written installation requirements of Recycle Design, Inc. as specified in Recycle Design, Inc. literature, applicable laws and regulations or industry standards; (c) installation, fabrication, engineering, service, maintenance or use of the Product, is performed improperly, negligently, or by unqualified or unauthorized personnel or without competent supervision; (d) the movement and/or collapse of the ground or structure on which the assemblage incorporating the Product is installed; (e) the Product is altered or modified without the prior written approval of Recycle Design, Inc.; or (f) the initial end user has not paid in full for the warranted product. Limitation of Liability PURCHASER AGREES THAT RECYCLE DESIGN, INC.’S LIABILITY, UNDER ANY WARRANTY, WHETHER IN CONTRACT, IN TORT, IN NEGLIGENCE OR OTHERWISE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT OF THE PURCHASE, PRICE PAID AND REASONABLE INSTALLATION COST. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHALL RECYCLE DESIGN, INC. BE LIABLE FOR CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES. INSURANCE AND OTHER INCIDENTAL COSTS OF REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT SHALL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE PURCHASER.
