The American Junior Simmental Association provides leadership and educational opportunities for youth ages 8 through 22 through regional and national events held annually across the US. Participants are required to complete educational contests, such as public speaking, judging, sales talk and more, truly shaping youth into the next generation of beef industry leaders. The 2023 AJSA Eastern Regional will welcome more than 250 participants and their families to Ohio to compete in educational contests and exhibit over 400 head of cattle.
Entry information for the 2023 AJSA Eastern Regional will be available in April. Learn more and register online at juniorsimmental.org

It’s hard to know where to start and stop writing about this Vantage Point daughter. We think Cierra 912J is an exceptional bovine. Next-level stoutness and power with the femininity and presence to make her elite. Yes, she took a great picture. A lot of cattle do, but study her video or better yet come see her in person and you’ll appreciate her even more! She’s out of an awesome young Relentless cow that is a granddaughter of Chris Allen’s red matriarch, Sierra 245S. Seemed fitting to keep the family name going with this one! To make her story even more interesting, she has an identical (and I mean identical) twin sister that we kept back for our girls. There is no way we would part with this one if we didn’t have her twin to keep back. They have been known as the “Redheads” around our place since the day they were born and are puppy dog tame. Vantage Point absolutely clicks on the Relentless cow. She had an awesome full sib bull calf to 912J this year and we mated her right back the same way for next year. 912J was AI bred to TJ Chief on 12/20. I don’t know if redheads really have more fun but whoever buys this one sure will!

We knew before this female hit the ground; she was going to be a whale of a good one. And is she ever, just look at her genetics. She out of the extremely popular Griswold Bull, “SAM” on a Silveiras Style x Drama Queen dam. With this mating, you cannot go wrong. Follow that with her big center, tons of power, structural soundness, and awfully good profile, she’s bound to make a tremendous cow for any breeding program. We only bred her once and she is confirmed pregnant due to calf April 30.

AI’d on 11/2/22 to Mr CCF The Duke (ASA#3583413). Safe to AI on 12/7/22. Unable to sex.
Every year we take a donor prospect to Oklahoma or Denver and H051 was our pick. We felt our herd sire FSCI JEFFERSON F821 was a perfect match but after three years he ran out of bullets. All that said when we found her to be open we AI’d her to Mr. CCF Duke and took first time. This Gemstone Daughter is built for success with all the tools. Wide pinned, long spinned and dinner plate feet with desirable flex and angles and that great pop hair. H051 has a great disposition as she is halter broke and was division champion at the Ohio State Fair with her one and only outing. A527 continues to write her story in the ASA annuals. We would like to split a flush with the new owner!

Same situation as our Gemstone lot, our herd sire FSCI Jefferson F821 was shooting blanks after three successful years of service. AI’d to CCF Duke and took the first time.
