Project Outline

Social Business Innovators Startup Camp

>>>TURNING SOCIAL INNOVATORS INTO SUSTAINABLE ENTREPRENEURS The Social Business Innovators Startup Camp is an event designed to turn social innovators from NGO, Startup and Web 2.0/3.0 environments into sustainable entrepreneurs. In September 2011 this project will create social business startups together with young generation people who commit to address social, environmental and economic threats like environmental deconstruction and pollution, gender and ethnical discrimination, economic exploration, destitution and social injustice. It will transform these social innovators through a holistic open source process to social business entrepreneurs. This process will be non-formal education based and supported by highclass mentors from science, business, environmental and society related environments to ensure a maximum of positive outcome and leveraged business model innovation. At this 6 day event, the newly generated social businesses will be directly connected to networks of support and collaboration: The closing investor´s day will be the starting point for the new startups to grow and evolve into social business networks of empowerment.

The project is conceived as a startup and is open source-minded. It will close the gap between NGOs and social business environments while supporting volunteering people to adapt to new economic, environmental and social concepts and contexts while connecting them to networks that facilitate future perspectives. The project management of the Social Business Innovators Startup Camp is therefore designed to be open to potential partners and stakeholders, providing multiple opportunities to get involved in all parts of the process. Currently 30dna is pitching and developing the project concept in close dialogue with NGOs, organisations and businesses in the various fields targeted.

Potential Partners We are currently speaking to Generation Europe Foundation, Global Changemakers and Ashoka who are involved in sustainable entrepreneurship and the European Peer Training Organisation/CEJI, Amnesty International and the European NonGovernmental Sport Organisation amongst others from social change focused environments. In the startup and entrepreneur scene we are currently connecting to networks such as the Startup Weekend and a number of Web 2.0/3.0 relating serial entrepreneurs. Counselling in science and academic contexts is currently been acquired at the University of Vienna and the University of Applied Sciences Bremen. Further partnership negotiations in the cooperate sector as well as with the finance industries will be disclosed in the near future. Our approach is to realize scale effects while building a network of high potential social, environmental and economic change committed NGOs, foundations, sustainable entrepreneurship and social business aggregators, academic and research institutions as well as cooperate businesses, freelance professionals and Social Business Innovators Startup Camp like-minded organisations and individuals. Current opportunities to join in are especially considered in the fields of green industries and environmental protection, consulting and law as well as in the banking, finance and capital sector. We appreciate your input - please do not hesitate to contact us on your role in this context and process.
