Editorial Mission Generation Z is a magazine that aims to provide students (ages 16-25) with articles that matter to them. We didn’t have a student magazine during our transition to further education and so, our goal is to offer high quality, engaging content that is important and relatable to the reader. We produce content under the following categories: Music TV and Film Internet Trends/Culture Fashion Advice Events Student Survival
Audience Our audience as mentioned above are students aged between 16 – 25 so initially young adults who are starting off with higher education to adults who are finishing. We got these ages after doing an online survey in which the audiences who responded were of these ages. Audience plays a key factor in developing a brand because it’s audience perception that increases the demand of the product. Generation Z longevity depends on the viewership of its target audience, as the content we provide has to be read in order to showcase a gap in market which our magazine can fill. By having such relatable categories and content, allows us to keep our audiences happy, but being students ourselves allows us to understand our target market of students better.
Website Our website is hosted on WordPress and was designed to be simplistic yet eye-catching, the colours are minimalistic on the online version of the magazine to allow an easy navigation for the audience. The website is easy to follow with options tab at the top to allow preference for the audience to go to the page they wish to. The main homepage consists of all the articles published by Generation Z magazine with the newest releases at the top. The website link is www.generationzmag.com
Print Version The print version of the magazine is available, the first issue focuses on the months of January – April as this is a magazine that releases its issues quarterly meaning the whole year would have 3 issues in total accumulating to 12 months. The Print version is more colourful then the online version as our research showed that it was vital to add colour to make the print copy appealing to the target market. The first issue will be available on a pdf format but also will be available on issuu.com soon. We decided to opt for both digital and print version of Gen Z because most magazines still do a physical copy whilst having an online brand and platform.
