DUBLIN PUBLIC LIBRARY Fourth year - Fall Semester I spent the semester studying in Dublin, Ireland. As a student I did a design for the Dublin Public Library. The library is positioned directly north to south. This is where the conceptual shape of the hexagon building emerged from.

SOUTH SIOUX CITY CARDINAL CROSSING Fourth year - Spring Semester As a group, we created a master plan for a South Sioux City development. Than we were asked to design a sector of the master plan individually. The design I created was for market rate residential housing. The theme throughout the design process was to maximize the connection to outdoor space.

Ecuador Service Learning | Fifth year - Summer 2014 As a group we designed a park complex for the community. My part of the design was to incorporate a new playground. The concept for the design was to create a network of routes for children to explore. This playground can all be built out of dimensional and sheeted lumber.

TIANJIN MASTER PLAN Fifth year - Spring Semester As a studio, we master planned a 7.4 hectare area in Tianjin, China. We development a program based on site research, existing context, and cultural research. From there, we divided the region into six sections and each student designed a portion of the master plan.

TIANJIN HOTEL Fifth year – Spring Semester After the master plan, I designed the site’s hotel. The hotel is a medium boutique hotel with roof garden, restaurant, and ballroom. I research and toured a similar size hotel in Lincoln to help program and understand the program’s needs. The façade material is cement panels. The bright orange panels fading from dark to light is wrapped around the hotel creating a unique feature.

CAPITAL MARKET Sixth year - Fall Semester The design problem for this studio was to design housing on top and around a big box program. I have designed a market along with space for a new public library and commercial stores below 100 single family housing units. The building is located in downtown Lincoln, Nebraska and provides a much need space for selling and buying fresh goods. The housing sits on a tree from structure that the market space flows around.

PRODUCT DESIGN Sixth year - Fall Semester Over the course of a semester, I designed a Lego thermos. The center is a glass bottle spray painted silver surrounded by a body of Legos for insulation. The lid, top, and bottom pieces are made from a 3D printer and designed to snap into existing Lego pieces. I did several weeks of research on thermos, Legos, and how to build the product. I put together a booklet to send to Lego as if I would be marketing this product to them. The booklet included a marketing strategy, temperature maintaining research and tests, assembly instructions, process information, and mock-up advertisements.

LANDSCAPE DESIGN Sixth year - Spring Semester I have taken an interest in landscape and planting design. In a Senior Landscape Design class, one of our projects is to create and design our dream landscape. I chose to design my own hobbit hole in New Zealand. The project gave me the opportunity to research a different plant palette. The landscape design features a waterfall, raised beds, shade structure, several seating areas, fire pit, and permeable pavers. The front yard is design for aesthetic appeal with exploration in mind. The backyard is an area is designed for play with large open spaces.
