ABOUT THE ART
ABOUT THE ARTIST Ayhan Yavuz was born in 1965 in Izmir, Turkey. He moved to England to study English before making his move to the United States. He currently lives near Seattle Washington. Ayhan studied fashion design, worked in banking and finance, but was ultimately unhappy there. He knew that the artist within him was there and needed to be freed. He knew that he had to start creating again. Ayhan practices Buddhism not as a religion, but as a way of life. Mindfulness meditation is one of the most helpful tools he has learned, as he found that through creating he was able to experience a powerful deep meditation that connected him back to his imagination and love of art. He has published two books, titled “In the Cradle of Umbra” and “Azra’s Labyrinth”. Ayhan has rediscovered himself as an artist. His artwork has been published in Rêve de Femmes (a French publication), Art and Beyond Magazine's Summer SoulRise Exhibition Special Issue 2021. (www.artandbeyondpublications.com). and shown in multiple juried art shows. He has exhibited his work in Washington, Montana, California, and New York. Ayhan is represented by Artra Worldwide.
