God save the King!

Between clouds and raindrops, the Coronation spread plenty of joy and sunshine through the monarchy as we all sang Handel’s Zadok the Priest —with gusto! We dashed in and out of street parties as the Royal women wore white floral wreaths and 8-year-old Princess Charlotte shone out from the crowd.

I was lucky enough to have tea at my house for “Meghan and Harry,” who stirred the onlookers along the river banks. Please don’t believe all you see. It was all in good humour as photographer Alison Jackson—famous for employing doppelgängers of celebs in her images—made my day by bringing her “Truth is Dead” show into my living room. Our real Royal family, bequeathed with enough scandal to titillate the commoners, makes successful fodder for Alison’s parodies. A few weeks ago, Lady Victoria Hervey (who wore a daring Scott Henshall black sequinned number) and I attended the incredible exhibition of Bernie Taupin—the lyricist turned visual artist. He painted and collaged over photographs by the late Terry O’Neill titled, Two Sides of the ’60s. It was clever, colorful, and sometimes kitschy.

I was fortunate to be included in the marriage of opera singer Melinda Hughes. Her father, Ken Hughes, directed Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, The Magical Car (1968), so Melinda pulled out all the stops in finding the great car used in the film to make her grand entrance.

I cannot wait to slip into my new clothes from Schiaparelli. I also love their belts and earrings. Wear a broach, and you change a whole outfit. As I near 62, I am getting ready for my facelift with Dr. Benjamin Pulvermacker in Paris (where the doctors love women). Hopefully, I will look ten minutes younger and send you all the beforeand-after photographs. With so much going on, I need to up my game and not look like a country bumpkin. Stay tuned. G
