Interior & Industrial design - My Portfolio

Page 1

ABOUT ME I have always been fascinated by what could do who has always had the curiosity on his side, the same that led me to undertake and conclude my university career. I studied Interior and Industrial Design at the Higher Institute of Design in Naples, during this time, I joined several design ďŹ rms as a trainee where I had the opportunity to deepen my technical design skills, participating actively in the development of projects. After the course of study, I take two paths, the ďŹ rst leads me to join several craftsmen acquiring knowledge of prototyping, so I start a path of self-production of furniture product, participating and exposing to various holidays where I acquire new stimuli that lead me to the approach of the world of digital prototyping working with companies for the realization of products with numerical control machines (CNC). While the second led me to work with small studios as a developer of 3D models and renderista, developing and expanding as many knowledge and skills. I am a sociable person, able to adapt to situations and to work in a team and above all with an extreme curiosity that always drives me in the study of new themes. During this journey, I developed/ gained an excellent eye for details and for the meticulous implementation of projects and the ability to work in a team. I am looking for an inspiring environment within which I can use and develop my knowledge and creative skills, where I can share thoughts and generate ideas through communication with your teammates. I am always willing to challenge the limits of product development and venture into the unknown.

PLAYGROUND DEL MONACONE The work that I present here is based on the identification of the vacuum urban space of our society because they were no used and they don’t guarantee a good social integration. I want to restore some space with a new use reinforcing the identity creating at the same time social inclusion. The playground immediately after the second world war became very important to go beyond the emotional difficulty caused by it. The same was then developed in all Europe and subsequently became the starting point to regenerate the urban vacuum space and architect, artist collaborations. Their focus will be the child creativity stimulation by space modeling. The RioneSanità, napolitan district has no collective equipment this is the reason why I choose It for my thesis. I choose the cloister of Santa Maria dellaSanità the center of it. The cloister was then transformed in a playground, an aggregation space for children necessary to improve the life quality of the inhabitants.

URBAN VOIDS DETECTION The project is born to regenerate the urban empty space, declared to be as unable to start social relations. Those spaces haven’t suitable services and opportunity to children’s growth. We can define those spaces as “No spaces” and the work is to regenerate andfeeling them as multifunctional spaces where is possible to spend time. They should become integration and social growth spaces. Representative for this is the RioneSanità, One of the Naples district with no spaces and means of social integration. I choose this space for that. The space was then elaborated again through the creation of new shape of integration focusing on the space that they have. The space analyzed is The cloister of Saint. Maria dellaSanità, a Church located in RioneSanità.

Ebraic religion. David’s star/David’s shield was associated during the holocaust when assumed a real meaning and spiritual sense. It’s more probable that the sign was born with Aristotle, to suggest the combination of basic elements with 2 isosceles triangles. In some tradition the triangle pointing the ground represent the woman, that is to say water and land, whereas pointing the sky represent the man, that is to say sky and fire. The dualism create with the harmony of the two triangle represent the creation balance ant the balance between God and Human. The structure is organized by steel pipe with 5 cm diameter. Each level is 50 cm high, with total height of 165 cm. the shape acquire has a swirling effect due to the triangle rotation of 35° of barycenter.

CHRISTIAN SIGN The stylised fish “Ichthys” is made of two curves that start from the same point, the “head” on the left that cross on the right with “tail”. Jesus devotee wanted to create new system to recognize people who belonged to this community without arouse suspicion between pagans. Infect when a Christian met an unknown person he created an arch on the sand to recognize his the loyalty; How? He continued the sign on the sand and they knew that could trust each other. The structure shaped the Ichthys, made of 3 supporting iron elements and on the top were inserted steel circular tubular that guarantee to the child to climb; whereas at the bottom there is a sloped solid wood level that allows the child to slide and cross it.

It has no sign to represent it. But I know that islamic art avoid figurative imagine because it doesn’t want that it became a new cult. A lot of Islamic illustration were built on square and circle that in general were also overlapping and repeated to create complex models. A recurring sign is a 8 pointed star, made of two square one rotated 45° compared with the other. Those were possible to combine to create reflection and rotation. We can them endless use. The structure is made up elements with geometric decoration present in the biggest world mosque, the Masjid al-Haram. The series of elements are concrete reinforced block, each with their own shape, staged on different height.

2S CHAIR Each object born from a question This is the case of the 2S Chair, an object born from four hands, asking the question: What do new generations need to live out their space? Furniture with small dimensions and multifunctional. From this analysis comes the 2S: seat, top and container in an essential shape and multifunctional aimed at being more than one object and with the will to adapt in everyday environments, Where his presence is not a hindrance but a help to the usual habits. Its small size makes it easy to move and adaptable to different spaces. The 2S is made of poplar plywood and lariflex; the difference of the two materials that make up respectively frame and seat top makes the different functions easily recognizable of this piece of furniture. The 2S Chair is pivoted to be used, lived and decomposed day by day in a different way, creating the union between aesthetics and function.

WHALE As well the animal sea that takes advantage of waves movement, as the one who wants to have a rest; abandon herself on sinuous lines. From this purpose appear Balena (Whale), planned on ergonomics study to giveus as much as possible a comfort sensation. The major part of objects produced with CNC give a rigidity feeling, but not in this case produced with a multi-layered birch with the latest news of digital design thinking on human body. It became absolutely cosy. Whale is a sit made up of 4 principals outline that together create a full and empty alternation suspended by junction systems. The negative space of different sections and curvy lines create a dynamic and flowing chaise lounge.

WHALE Inspired by an extented range of products through the productive process of CNC machine start up this prototype. The purpose of this project was to elaborate a sinous shape through a controlled production, that connecting several curves element, creates a variation of empty and full space in order to transmit movement and deep. During the planning process the purpose was to combine a functional production to contemporary aesthetics.

VILLA CAPRI The housing project develops on what are the points of Adriano Cornoldi, taken from the book “L’architettura dei luoghi domestici (The architecture of the domestic places), placing the individual and his gestures in the center of space, so that the actions are transformed into an itinerary of archetypes able to tell places, meanings and founding themes of living.

VILLA CAPRI THE ARCHITECTURAL INTERIOR IS THE EVENT BUILT BY THE GESTURE This moment highlights the internal and external passage. The project was created following those points: TO ACCESS, not only means having access, passing, entering, but also means agreeing, sharing the values and principles of the host space. The place of access stretches out to the outside to offer protection to the waiting and accompany the user in the ntimacy of the life of the host. Time that marks the passage between inside and outside. TO ENTER, like a fauces, the moment in which the passage between two different environments is marked. TO ACCOMMODATE, an environment that expresses a sense of hospitality and comfort, designed to welcome the guest. TO GATHER, the moment, the place where each individual finds himself, far from any interference. A privileged place of intimacy, conceived as a place of reflection and meditation.
