Leopard 46 and NEEL
Below the main deck you will find a huge amount of space for onboard systems, batteries, tanks, the engine room and other add-ons that cruisers like, such as a watermaker, high output inverter and possibly a genset and air-conditioning.
But, despite the temptation to fill the basement with cruising systems, it is one that should avoided as much as possible. The 43 is a true sailing machine that relies on its light weight and large sail plan for its sailing abilities. Load it down with systems and you will start to cut knots off her potential sailing speeds. As always, you have to find that delicate balance between sailing efficiency and creature comforts.

A cruising tri is not for everyone, particularly if a 25-foot beam is a problem. But the NEEL 43 is a blue water cruising boat that offers plenty of living space for a family, ample storage and the sailing performance that will make true sailors beam with joy.
