This project presented a challenge with a low budget, extreme climate and a boggy coastal site. The design strategy was based highly on expressing a simple and delicate material palette as well as a major emphasis on 'green design' and the compromises that this makes to the architectural quality of the building. Turning the building into a self sustaining machine. Detailed research was done on renewable energy sources and the site which gave the design a good footing and justification.
