About Me I am an undergraduate student at Woodbury University seeking my degree in Architecture. I spent four years in the Marine Corps as an engineer where I served as a draftsman and land surveyor. In the Marines I realized that I am a quick learner that performs well under pressure. At Woodbury I have designed projects of various scales including a community garden here in Burbank, to a housing development in the Bahamas. I have also learned to collaborate well with students from different design backgrounds and institutions. I am driven and enthusiastic, eager to expand my working knowledge while still maintaining my design integrity.

The economic viability of the American Southwest region is not bound by political borders and forms a megalopolis. The infusion of Asian investment, Tijuana production, and the American market, known as the Tijuana Triangle, suggests the megalopolis' need for a new capital. The idea of an independent capital draws comparisons to the Vatican City. The project, a culmination of two buildings that dissolve the border between the U.S and Mexico, will rise up to create a focal point throughout the city. Utilizing the urban design theory of City Beautiful, primary buildings are orientated along boulevard views. Much like the Vatican City, program is divided and assembled by levels of accessibility, ranging from public to private. Also, by mapping the Vatican City one is able to draw out groupings of density and an urban language. A geometric language is developed by overlaying a grid onto the Vatican and highlighting forms derived from levels of privacy. These forms are then stretched and grouped with similar levels. The main function of the building is to house two think-tank organizations that will research and improve the concept of the capital and its importance to the world. Currently there are 19 foreign consulate offices dispersed throughout Tijuana. the capital building provides office spaces for all of the consulates to come together to work more collaboratively. In addition, the building becomes the destination point that potential businesses on an exploratory mission to see if they should open a factory in Tijuana.
