For eligible students, HOPE Scholarship contributes funds toward tuition at the assigned rate of $229 per credit hour (maximum calculation based on 15 hours per term). Projected amount per semester is $3,435. For the year, this is $6,870. Students qualifying for the Georgia Zell Miller Scholarship will receive 100% of tuition charges, which is $3,754 per semester for a yearly total of $7,508.

October Begin financial aid planning process. • Oct. 1 – The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) becomes available online at www.fafsa.gov. • Georgia College’s FAFSA code is 001602. • Estimate your Cost of Attendance for Georgia College (GC) at www.gcsu.edu/financialaid using the Cost Calculator. • Utilize resources like www.gafutures.org. • October/November – Qualifying students may begin submitting the President’s Scholarship Competition interest form and materials. More information is available at www.gcsu.edu/psc. • Oct. 15 – Early Action Admissions deadline.

• Nov. 8 – President’s Scholarship Competition application deadline. (Priority consideration will be granted to students who have completed their application by the early action deadline of Oct. 15. ) • Mid November: President’s Scholarship Competition invitations sent to selected students

December

• Dec. 6 – President’s Scholarship Competition at GC (invitation only).

December — May “Early Estimate” award notifications will be made by GC’s Financial aid Office for all students that have completed the FAFSA application process. • Students will be notified via their GC Bobcats email account. • Instructions for accessing award information will be included.

Early February Deadline for returning students to apply for scholarships at GC.

Beginning June Official award notifications will be made and students will be notified via their Bobcats email account.

July 1 Financial aid files must be complete in order to have funds to pay fees by the fall Semester deadline. • Files completed after this date will be processed as time permits. • Students will be reimbursed any funds awarded if payment for fall semester has already been made.
