Season Preview
The Bulldogs begin the 2022 dual season as the eighth-ranked team in the nation, the ITA announced in early January as it released the preseason top 25 DI team rankings. Georgia is one of eight SEC schools to rank in the top 25, checking in only behind Florida (No.1 ) and Tennessee (No. 4).
Georgia kicks off the 2022 dual schedule on the road in Lake Nona, Fla. on January 17, against UCF.
Georgia will then return home for the ITA Kick-Off Weekend hosting VCU, South Florida and Virginia Tech from Jan. 30-31. The Bulldogs take on NC State (Feb.4), Wake Forest (Feb. 6) and in-state foes Georgia Tech (Feb. 13) in Atlanta and Mercer (Feb. 27) at home. On March 1 Georgia will face No. 3-ranked Texas at home before starting SEC play.
In all, Georgia’s schedule includes eight teams in the top 10 ITA preseason team rankings.
The SEC schedule begins March 4 in Nashville against Vanderbilt followed by a March 6 matchup in Starkville, Miss. against Mississippi State. The Bulldogs take on No.1-ranked Florida at home on March 11—the first of three-straight conference matches at home for the Bulldogs as they take on South Carolina (March 13) and Arkansas (March 18) the following weekend.
Georgia’s remaining home slate includes SEC matchups against Tennessee (March 20), Texas A&M (March 27), Ole Miss (April 1), LSU (April 3), Kentucky (April 10) and wrapping up with Auburn (April 15) and Alabama (April 17) at home.
The University of Georgia will host the 2022 SEC Tournament on April 20-24. The NCAA first and second rounds set to take place May 6-8 at various campus sites. The NCAA Super Regional matches are scheduled for May 13-15, while the NCAA championships will take place in Champaign, IL. at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign from May 19-28.
