3 Complete an admission application and pay the application processing fee. 4 Request official transcripts be sent electronically to GHC from high school and

all post-secondary institutions. If electronic submission is not available, schools may send by mail.

deadlines below. If applying for in-state tuition, this deadline includes Proof of Lawful Presence (LAWP).

will meet with an advisor and register for classes.

PAYING FOR COLLEGE

Students can earn an associate degree for less than $8,000 or a bachelor’s degree for less than $16,000. That’s half the cost of other institutions across the country! For a breakdown of current tuition and fees, visit highlands.edu/tuition-and-fees

FINANCIAL AID CHECKLIST Create your FSA (Federal Student Aid) ID at fsaid.ed.gov. The FSA ID will serve as your legal signature. Complete your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) starting October 1st at fafsa.gov using the Georgia Highlands College FAFSA School Code: 009507. Note: A week after completing the FAFSA go back and review your Student Aid Report (SAR). Priority deadlines to apply for federal and state financial aid for each semester are: FALL – July 1st SPRING – November 1st SUMMER – March 1st Financial aid files must be complete and all required documentation submitted by the deadline or an award cannot be guaranteed by the final fee payment deadline. Taking Charge STUDY ABROAD &

EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING The GHC and University System of Georgia study abroad programs give students the opportunity to travel to another country and take courses linked to the trip. Experiential learning trips within the United States are also offered in courses like geology and physical education. These programs offer a unique learning experience that brings students into contact with different places and cultures. Graduates who participated in these programs frequently report that it was one of the most rewarding experiences as a college student.

STUDENT ENGAGEMENT Creating opportunities for engagement outside the classroom helps students create memorable connections. GHC’s student organizations develop leadership, philanthropy, and decision-making skills as students are exposed to diverse experiences and issues. In addition to over 45 student organizations and numerous weekly activities, GHC offers intramural sports at the Floyd and Cartersville locations that promote health, sportsmanship, teambuilding skills, and memories that last a lifetime.
