TAKE ONE: INTERACTION FILM+ARCHITECTURE
This thesis explores the intersection between Cinema and Architecture by creating a film studio that gives the audience a glimpse of what happened inside of a studio, with the idea of reconnecting these two worlds by reconceiving the fictional world and the city. In order to explore the union between Cinema and Architecture I have look into Sergei Eisenstein essay “Montage and Architecture”. He translated this architecture to cinema by creating the term “Montage” which is the link of one point to various elements, from diverse points of view and sides. The idea behind this thesis relates to the early approaches of interaction between film + architecture and film + city. The approach was to develop the circulation of the building from exterior and interior as if where a cinematic montage that could be read as an architectural promenade. The building is conceiving as a metaphoric camera, the apertures of the building are simulating the camera angles and movements of film.

TAKE THREE: INTERACTION FILM+ARCHITECTURE+CITY
The moments created on the interiors as well for the exterior can be read as a film narrative unfolding. Film angles are used by directors to tell the story of a character, in this case the actor for the film is the spectator recalling on Walter Benjamin statement of “any individual can be in a position to be filmed.” The way I approach the film techniques into the design is by using the camera apertures to develop the window opening that become the threshold that helps to blur the line between fiction. The window apertures are using the different kinds of shots such as close up, wide shot, etc...

The Studio Park provides special places to create events and gathering spaces for El Paso, Juarez and Suland Park. The Studio Park is the nodal point in a series of connections through the entire entertainment district of Sunland Park. Projective topographic modeling allows for a tectonic understanding of the relationship of geometries at the landscape, architectural, and material scales. The scalar shift of construction units is in relative sync with the variation of spatial hierarchies on site. The Studio Park has a major band shell that hosts a wide range of music series and annual performing arts events.

DESIGN CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT
Disintegrating the Wall consists of a landmark that degenerates the intrusive wall that currently divides the American/Mexican border and introduces an environment of union and resilience that rises against the segregative movement of the present day. This physical intervention is the heart of a bi national space as well as a vehicular and pedestrian crossing between Nogales, AZ and Nogales, MEX. Green and gathering spaces construct the path towards “the landmark,” a deconstructed façade that resembles a series of “disintegrating pixels. An abstract expression of how a wall should be unbuilt. In this habitable space families that’ve been separated are given the opportunity to reunite and gather in a setting that invites both communities to a unique opportunity, come together as one to share their cultures and vision for the border region. It hosts a series of exhibits of the border life, including art and displays that narrate the effects of having a wall dividing these two nations on economic, social and environmental matters. As individuals that’ve always lived in the border region, it’s devastating to witness the increasingly efforts by bureaucrats to divide us, and it has become clear, the importance of demonstrating our opp osition against this movement of separation.

CONCEPTUAL DEVELOPMENT TOWER BLOCK
In this integrated building studio, we question how architecture can engage a community built on modernist desire and expanded with mannerist doubt. An oscillation between autonomy and idealism, to envision a new museum that acknowledges that art and life should not be considered separately, but as inextricably linked. Our concept derives from the metaphor museum as Bridge + tower. The bridge represents the connection of a the arts within a campus to its surrounding, ever expanding metropolitan area. The tower represents the monumentality of a cultural institution within the grounds of the University of California at Irvine. The bridge is light, luminous, transparent, elevated; the tower is imposing, monolithic, massive. Our proposal is to transition one in the campus through a bridge by first approaching public event and educational spaces, onto the bookstore, cafe and patio moving onto the tower guided by visitor amenities that lead one to transcended to gallery spaces atop. The third level hold an auditorium and offices for operational spaces in the perimeter light and space gallery. The fourth level commence the precision into the Light and space gallery, with open, larger spaces best suited for these usually big pieces that need less light.

The purpose of this studio is to approach design through the adjustment daylight in gallery spaces, so we chose a horizontal light well in each floor that will bring the light into the building, by having a reflective glass celling the light can be distributed through each floor, and diffuses the light. El Paso Texas used to be a famous because of its clothes manufacturing, but it has been some time that the clothing industry closed down. Fashion + Technology will bring back this once great industry. Fashion + Technology will allow the community to walk around and explore the newest developments in clothing and technology. One can also experiment and interact with different fabrics and even design their own articles of clothing. The folds an article of clothing creates was the inspiration for the design of the building.

DESIGN CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT ACOUSTIC MITIGATION
San Francisco has the 5th largest deaf community of the United States. The Deaf community have struggled to find home anywhere in the city. The isolation that comes with deafness is augmented by the fact that sign-language as a means of communication is mostly only understood by other deaf people. The Visual-Phonic Center aims to provide the missing sense of community for the deaf, this constituency will be encourage to socialize with the hearing world by provided spaces of engagement for the deaf with the hearing constituency. The sharing with in the Unit areas are provided in a unique way, since acoustical separation it’s not necessary needed, it would be more about visual separation. In order to create private, sharing areas the use of a curtain would provide for the visual separation. Depending on the position of the curtain the moments for the sharing spaces would happen. As for the public areas, the program would be through visualization in order to engage both constituency. Gallery, meeting rooms, and an open amphitheater would be provided in order to create a visual connection and conversation between the deaf and the hear people.
